What are some positive sides to illegal immigration?
Answer:
There aren't any benefits.
cheap labor and people who are willing to work in conditions that arent so great
so you are asking what's the positive effect of breaking the law? Or how criminals are contributing to economy?
None.
Driving down wages so the rich get richer and the poor get poorer?
Ruining schools so that children of the poor and middle class can't compete?
Closing emergency rooms?
Oh, yeah, I remember the benefit Greenspan said...it is 'anti inflationary. But that is what I said in my first point. If wages are lower, goods cost less. But the profit goes to the corporations, not the workers, and with lower wages, the workers can't buy the goods.

freakyboy, look at what you just wrote. How will corporations go overseas for dry cleaning? Or for construction? It is a piece of the puzzle. On the one hand they outsource what they can, but then want to bring in cheaper labor to do jobs that by their nature they CAN'T outsource.
Americans don't have to do jobs like dry cleaning, picking up food, working in slaughterhouses, and basically all the things typical americans woudn't do. If it wasn't for illegal immigrants doing it, corporations would go overseas but since we're willing to work for less than we're worth, that's a positive side.
I'm being serious and not racial. Most corporations or all really, try to look for cheap labor and they can get it here instead of overseas. People will complain about "illegal immigrants" but never think about the sorry jobs they'd have to take if it wasn't for them.
Sorry as far as I am concern it is all downhill. While we might pay less for some food, we pay out in the back end in schooling, health care, and other welfare for the illegals and their families. Now we have a Senate that wants not only to grant amnesty but to bill us for it.
Keeps the police busy and the jails full.
cheap.. really cheap labor (keeps prices down)
also jobs that regular people don't want to do.. are done
This issue has nothing to do with race, so don't even go there! This is about the LAW!
As for positive things, NO ONE TINY THING ABOUT THIS IS POSITIVE! Every aspect about the illegal alien criminals is negative and destructive.
Yes, CRIMINALS! What should we call these 20+ million people that are breaking our laws by being here and sponging off the taxpayer? We can't call them law-abiding because they aren't. They sure aren't patriots or taxpayers! They don't care about their families since they are subjecting them to the possibility of deportation or jail (that's the law).
What about "undocumented workers?" HECK NO! That makes them sound like they've done nothing wrong and have just misplaced their paperwork.
YUP, CRIMINALS fit nicely!.
They drive side by side down our highways at 40 miles an hour during rush hour, and keep us from speeding. Also, they pull over in front of us if we do manage to get up our speed giving us the opportunity to test our reflexes and our brakes.
1 - Cheaper goods and services for American consumers.
2 - Lower costs and increased profits for American businesses.
3 - The expansion of our school systems.
4 - Manpower to do the jobs that some refuse to do at the wage being offered.
This is all spin because everyone of these conditions although positive represent a long term diminishment of Americas standard of living. There is no long term benefit to the acceptance of illegal immigration.
Because most of them are from the same countries so they have to defend them...
And They do not freaking understand the word "CONSEQUENCES"
There are no positive effects on the economy. It brings down wages, do you know that the second largest revenue for Mexico is money sent BACK from the USA?
NOTHING...
IMMIGRATION REFORM BILL MUST NOT PASS INTO LAW EVER!
Keep the pressure on..WRITE / CALL
www.congress.org
THINK ABOUT THIS AND ASK YOUR REPS ABOUT IT?
By the numbers if this bill passes:
12 million illegals will get amnesty AND so will extended family members ...sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles etc. in Mexico to come here.
Say there are only 5 in the extended family of each illegal here now [WE KNOW THERE ARE MANY MORE THAN 5] . that totals to 60 million more who can come here, granted amnesty and ultimate citizenship.
NO ONE IS ANSWERING THIS QUESTION:
How will they enforce this law?

Immigration Bill in Doubt After Vote

and this.
By a vote of 33-63, the Senate fell far short of the 60 votes that would have been needed to limit debate on the immigration measure and put it on a path to passage. Republicans—even those who helped craft the measure and are ultimately expected to support it—banded together to oppose that move, while a majority of Democrats backed it. Fifteen Democrats and Independent Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont, who is usually allied with their party, voted "no." http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=...
DON'T BACK DOWN.KEEP THE PRESSURE GOING!! NO AMNESTY EVER."FEDS" now!!
Fence - build entire length
Enforce - all laws on books
Deport - all illegals when found
Sanction - complicit employers

no seriously, more peace of mind to know how is in our country, and what they do, because we don't have any idea, i just see people batching the bill but they don't have a solution.
they just complaint as far as i can see
There aren't any!
I don't see any positives
From whose point of view? If I am, for example, a young person living in a famine stricken country, pull the longest straw in a village lottery and have my ticket bought for a boat full of other people just like me, and that boat lands at a quiet beach in America undetected, I would be an 'illegal immigrant'. And I certainly would be seeing many positive sides... such as my life expectancy tripling, my chance of education going from none to moderate, my chance at being employed in a productive job going from very little to very high.
Interestingly, that last benefit is not only for me but for others... no longer am I an unproductive, barely surviving mouth-to-feed, living off UN and American aid, without giving anything at all back, but a person who increasing the overall productivity of America at below market rates.
After a few years of cleaning your houses so you can work longer hours or spend more time having fun, I start a formal education program, and another decade later I have a diploma of whatever, allowing me to work in a skilled field, except... damn, I'm "illegal" and thus can't get a job in any skilled field... what is more, I am caught, and deported back to my home country, which although now out of famine, is in dire need of any skilled persons it can get. I spend the next 25 years teaching a new generation of still very poor, but improving, young children how to read, write, and do math, in a school with 300 students and 5 teachers.
One example of an illegal immigrant who has benefited the world economy, the American economy, his motherland economy, and himself.
PS. I am not said person.
Absolutely nothing.
