What do you think of the roundup & deportation of over 700 illegals in CA?

Recently the Immigration & Customs Enforcement rounded up over 700 illegal aliens (over 400 of which are convicted felons) and deported them. Most of the people were Mexican nationals, but there were people from other countries as well.

Do you think this is a positive step in the fight against illegal immigration? Or do you think it's a drop in the bucket and won't actually accomplish anything (because most of those people will just sneak back illegally anyway)?

Answer:
If this was a one-time thing, then I don't think it will make any difference. But, I think it will help if it continues with any regularity.
I think it is fantastic that the U.S. is really starting to implement some great practices as far as enforcing and protecting our borders. With new initiatives, such as WHTI(Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative) and US-VISIT(a system of biometrics to monitor people entiring and leaving the country via fingerprints, set to be in place in Dec. 08), we are making great strides in the right direction.
