If the12 million illegal aliens already in this country don't get deported, they will have anchor babies?

and they will become "legal citizens" of this country. What do you think about this? If we changed our laws to deny citizenship to them, they will obviously complain about racism when they grow up, because probably many of them won't speak spanish, chinese or the language their parents spoke and they obviously would feel more like "americans" than mexicans, chinese, etc.

Answer:
so. maybe we such start like in China.

you know, one child per household.

because i am tired to take the train and see so many kids around me and no seats available.

Oh, wait a minute, what about the "chosen people" who have to populate because they Boss is coming soon. (whatever that means)

ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Well, it's unconstitutional.
My guess is that about 10 million of them already do.
Anchor babies don't work if the law is enforced.

Edit: Yes, anchor babies are basically American citizens. The thing though is that if the parents are illegal then the parents can still be deported. It doesn't help the parents become citizens or stay in the U.S. by having an anchor baby.

Also, if the laws were enforced for buisnesses that hired illegal immigrants, then no illegal immigrants would come here since they couldn't get work. What would be the point in an illegal immigrant coming to the U.S., if the illegal immigrant can't make any money to survive? It would be pointless if the laws were enforced.
That is one problem with the 'so called temporary workers' there are overstay problems since they aren't mandating the visa exit tracking program, but also, how many will have citizen children starting that problem all over again?
Many already did. Why do you think it is only 12 million? It should be more like 20 million.
there should be a law that just bcuz one is born in a country, it does not make them a citizen. similar laws have passed through congress with no avail. it is not racist, countries in europe have laws like this.
deny citizenship to babies born from illegal parents. The fetus isn't a legal entity, it's an extension of the mother who is illegal, which makes the fetus illegal.
I'm sure most of them have already had 'anchor babies.' The 14th Amendment has been totally warped to benefit illegals.

Racism is something they'll resort to because they know they don't have a valid reason as to why we should allow them to get a free meal ticket.

It's not unconstitutional to deport those who aren't citizens of this country.
I've said it myself. We need to introduce a bill that takes away the birthright citizenship to children born to illegal.
We can't change our laws to deny them citizenship , since they are automatically citizens if born in US territory. All we can do is change the law to prevent NEW anchor babies, but you can see how likely it is that we will do that.
The 14th amendment was written to ensure that black slaves had all rights as citizens...

Had they known then what they know now...I think they would have been a little more clear in their writings.

This is NOT being used in which the way it was written.

It needs to be repealed as it has outlived it's purpose. We no longer have slaves that were born here.
You ever hear of proposition 187 in California? The Supreme Court got rid of it some while back. I am an anchor baby and am proud of it. You guys couldn't deport so now you can kiss my "illegal" ***.
Its a Big country, I'm sure there's room.
I love how you call them anchor babies. If you don't like, change your govt...Like you all tell Mexicans to change theirs.
Lets think about this you have 12 million illegals, lets say half are women so thats 6 million and lets say haof are of child rearing age, thats 3 million, now each of those is most likely going to have at least one kid, some will have many more so lets put the aveage of 2.5 on there, that makes the potential for 19.5 million in just a few amount of years. the more we have here, the more bbies each will have and it multiplies larger and larger with each group
I believe the 'anchor babies' should receive citizenship, and their parents should receive at least a green card. Illegal immigration is inevitable, and building a feudalistic wall and deporting as many illegal immigrants won't do anything. By giving temporary work permits and green cards, those who want to cross the border for good reasons can, and catching those wanting to commit crimes in the US will be easier. This is because we will then have a better record of those who commit crimes and those seeking a better life.
What do you think.. that the people who passed through the river want to come back to Mexico? They want to be there forever. They don't want to come back, they want better opportunities than they had. The U.S. is a great nation because of its people whether they are illegal or they aren't.
"Anchor Babies" is the single most repulsive phrase I've ever heard. Spout whatever racist babble you want to about the parents, but to attack a baby is monstrous. How disgusting of a human being are you?
The Constituation of the United States is the Law... have you ever read it? Seems like you haven't... this protects any person who has been born in this country..BORN in this country. Anchor babies, what is this...call it what you want if it makes you feel better. They are American Citizens with Mexican parents. Everyone at one time had to become a citizen. As did our forefathers-forefathers... yet many of you take that priviedge for granted.

It is our priviledge that we speak more than one language. I speak 5. Grew up speaking Spanish, learned English then visited family in Italy and learned Italian. Went to France and I speak French. I also speak Portuguese...It is not a crime to speak your own natural language.

Being born here makes them LEGAL CITIZENS. They don't need a piece of paper to tell them that. Again read the constitution it will remind you of that.
There is only one Presidential candidate who wants to repeal the "anchor baby" provision of the 14th Amendment.

Most of the answers I see here want that provision struck down.

Who will you vote for?
Birthright citizenship is a myth. Always has been. It was the intent of the authors of the 14th amendment and the 39th congress that ratified it, to DENY birthright citizenship to Foreigners and aliens. They explicitly stated this many times.

Birthright citizenship is a fable that keeps being spread by the Media and our own politicians. Most often you will read in the press that 'anyone born in the US is automatically a citizen' It has been repeated so many times that people regard it as true. I wrote that idiot Feinstein on that very issue and she wrote back stating that the 14th Amendment EXPLICITLY states it. It does not...not even close.

Someone, somewhere down the line just started granting automatic citizenship. No one can point to the specific individual nor can they point to a Supreme court case where that issue was decided. It would, in fact, be very hard for the Supreme beings to decide that, Despite what was written by the authors of the 14th amendment, they really didn't mean it.
That would be like saying "God reall didn't mean what he wrote in the ten commandments. What he really meant to say is this....
