Obviously immigrants register for income tax if they are earning. Most categories are not allowed to claim benefits until they have been here for a certain period, and certainly most don't come for benefits.
Actually I would have no problem about further restricting access to benefits. I would restrict access to natives as well as to newcomers.
I would also say we should allow in anyone who pays a bond to compensate for any state expenses they might incur, be that necessary benefits, costs of police attention, health treatment, eventual removal if necessary. At the end of five years, if they've been usefully employed and no trouble, let them stay, we need people like that!
And maybe if we cut access to benefits for native, some of our own scroungers would bogger of to Spain and live on the beaches there. Sounds like a good exchange to me.

I think its an excellent idea. I am in the UK on an ancestral visa - I have to have had a grandparent born in the UK before 1922 (birth cert as evidence), I had to bring a min of £2000 with me, I may not receive any social benefits at all for 5 yrs and I have to pay tax, paye, NI. That would definitely end the influx of people to this wonderful place
This already exists. I am a legal immigrant and I do have to pay regular taxes as if I had been born here. I file a tax return form and everything, as any american here. It's a different kind of form that gives me a smaller tax return though.
All immigrants are required to pay and file taxes if they work in the US. Illegal immigrants don't do it because they are ILLEGAL.

Um... I never said that social security had a lot to offer... I don't know wher you got that from.
That's kind of happening right now with something else, when you apply for a visa and someone sponsors you, you can't get any type of government aid or your sponsor will be fined.

Like social security has much to offer? I don't think so, there are many illegals that pay taxes with an ITIN # they get from the IRS, they will NEVER see that money again. I don't see them complaining.
Personally, I do not care about the benefits, I do not need them. I am not here to beg. I came here to see another piece of the world, to work, to learn something new. However, the more comments like yours I read, the more I think that learning something useful from native people is pointless. Most of social welfare system abusers have been actually born and bread in this country and there are so many of them. This is why you need immigrants, someone has to work if you can only moan.

I'm going to assume you mean illegal immigrants since an immigrant already pays social security tax.Also many illegals do.The only ones I know of who don't are a certain group of refugees.So on the assumption of illegals and refugees the bill proposal states that with a z-visa ALL immigrants must pay into Social Security but aren't able to collect it ever.Also they can't collect any type of federal aid such as welfare or medical assistance.Now refugees is a completely different story.They are allowed to COLLECT welfare and Social Security payments the minute they step foot on our soil.As a matter of fact they are given welfare benefits FOR 5 years as they adjust to America.They also DON"T have to learn english as the immigrants do.And once they begin work they don't pay taxes for I believe it's 5 years.There is a huge difference in how we treat immigrants here on visa's and refugees.
by law they already have it's just not enforced , the government could sort the problem out but they don't want to , they make far too much money from immigration and it also helps keep us weak ( classic divide and conquer ) !!!

I think it is a good idea to forbid some benefits for illegal immigrants, or those people, who just take the advantages of a country.
I don´t think it will stop the illegal immigration (many africans and latinamercans use to live without it in their countries), but at least the money of the contributions will be save...
