Do you think any child borned in America should be a citizen of America?

I think if the parents are a citizen yes and if not No way.,

Answer:
Automatic birth right citizenship for children of illegal aliens is a misrepresentation of the 14th amendment and needs to be stopped.

The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (Amendment XIV) is one of the post-Civil War amendments (known as the Reconstruction Amendments), intended to secure rights for former slaves. It includes the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses among others. It was proposed on June 13, 1866, and ratified on July 9, 1868.[1] It is now regarded as one of the most important components of the Constitution.

The amendment provides a broad definition of national citizenship, overturning the Dred Scott case, which excluded African Americans. It requires the states to provide equal protection under the law to all persons within their jurisdictions, and was used in the mid-20th century to dismantle legal segregation, as in Brown v. Board of Education. Its Due Process Clause has driven many important and controversial cases around privacy rights, abortion (see Roe v. Wade), and other issues.

It had nothing to do with immigration or birth rights for illegal aliens children. And it hasnt always been this way .
not you
if the parent is not a citizen, than no.
I think they should...because that is the law, but evidently, the law doesn't matter, because we have eons of illegal immigrants in this country, eating up precious resources, and yet, not much is done.
That's how I became a citizen. Probably how you did, too.

Unless your last name is Running Bear, you're from immigrant stock, too. Just deal with it and quit being a bigot.
Only if the parents are legal citizens of the United states.
For a child born in America, if the parents are American citizens then yes the child should be a citizen automatically, but if the parents are not citizens, then no.
I do think anyone born here should be a citizen... I do this because I like population growth and the idea of an enfranchised population growth... as a 27 year old, I like the idea of receiving my social security paytments...
Borned?

I think it should work for everyone no matter where there parents are citizens of. That is the law.
I think if the parents are citizens or have filed paperwork to become citizens before the child is born.
Its called a naturalized citizen. It has been law since the creation of our country. You are born here, you are a citizen here.
Only if the parents are legal US citizens.
I agree with you. Although the constitution states any person born or naturalized int he US is a citizen, illegal immigration was not an issue I think they could have forseen when it was written.

When an illegal alien gives birth in the US thier baby is automatically a citizen; in short the constitution grants somebody legal status via an illegal act. It sucks, but I don't see that changing anytime soon.
it's how it's been done for 400 years and it's worked pretty well so far. I say, don't fix what ain't broke.

Funny, every one wants to be the LAST legal immigrant. Rather selfish, I think.
You know what? You can be a citizen if you're born here, but your parents just shouldn't get rights.
So, if people want to take their kids home, or leave them with whoever in their family IS legal, or give them up for adoption, that's great.
But this business about letting six illegals stay here beacuse of one child born here is ridiculous.
Fine, you're born here, you are a citizen. Way it's always been.
But we need to find ways to discourage and nearly eliminate the ABUSE of our kindness in other respects.
I agree. Now let's get our spineless officials to pass a law to reflect your views.
Being born in America shouldn't alone grant citizenship. Apparently, that's part of the problem now.
I agree with you.
BIRTH RIGHT CITIZENSHIP IS A GOOD THING.LEAVE THE CONSTITUTION ALONE.
No. That is a sorry *** way to try and become an American.
only if the parents are living here legally.
There is no such word as "borned."
Too bad we can't just go by IQ.

Or maybe a test about what a democracy is.

Or perhaps you must write a paper about the constitution.

When did your family immigrate to the US?
Since the preponderance of evidence shows that this is being abused I am afraid that it should be revisited. If it is determined that a constitutional amendment is required then we should set about doing so.

My personal opinion is that only those of legal status should be allowed to benefit from anything.
.
Keep your army out of poor foreign countries, then we'll talk.
And please go back to school. It is offensive to have to debate every illiterate pilgrim on this site. You stole this country, it is not yours to defend. The Mexica people have lived in the land stolen by the pilgrims for at least a thousand years.
If anyone is illegal here it is the race of genocidal pilgrims. The rest of us are the product of natives, blacks and indians and we are quite happy to protect the land from polluting xenophobes.
The US Constitution has been perverted by lack of enforcement of this very very clear issue. Today, people in general believe that if a child is born within the US borders they are US Citizens. The Constitution does not make any such provision. Only if we raise heck with the government, will this assumptive citizenship be stopped! Only children of persons 'under the jurisdiction of US law' are truly 'natural born' citizens. Illegals' offspring do not qualify under this at all, but these are actually getting all the benefits of citizenship. Write your congress people and raise holy heck!!
You are not making any sense, than how do those parents get citizenship, would you just start the law now? And why is it so upsetting to you? what do you care? If things were according to you that would mean that only Americans children are American , what about immigration? What about children of immigrants? And who is not an immigrant anyways, all of us except the first nations people, so stop your ethnocentric whining. By the way, Miss American, "borned" is not a word!
That is a really stupid thing, if you go back to hundreds of years back nobody is a citizen then, because the only ones that belong to this country are the Indians!, the rest immigrated here.
If the parents are illegals.NO!
Borned,LOL
