Would you agree with this characterization of the immigration 'legacy' Bush wants to leave?
"Jeff Sessions, the Republican senator from Alabama [said] "That's hurtful language, ...If the bill did what they promised it was going to do, I'd support it."
Nearly everybody agrees that it won't. All week long, to the president's growing frustration, friend and foe lined up to say how the "reforms" only make things worse. The few fans of the "reform" legislation began to search frantically for loopholes to flee through. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson, the two Republican senators from Georgia who voted for the president's bill, began to talk fondly about their second thoughts after they went home and were all but booed offstage at their party's state convention.
Answer:
That pretty much sums it up for me.
For those of you having difficulty getting thru to your senator, here is the 800 # paid for by the Mexican Amnesty Activists:
800-882-2005
This will get you directly to your senator unlike the #'s available to the US Citizen!
Press 1 when you hear a Spanish message, then Press 1 again to be transferred to your senior senator's office
OR
Press 2 when you hear a Spanish message, and you'll be transferred to your junior senator's office!
You get through immediately and the call is paid for by the enemy!
All politics are bull
Bush lives in a bubble and has no concept how his policies effect middle class families
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... 100 % support it
I am from Georgia and am embarrassed of how my Senators are acting. I was shocked that they would elect to bring it to a vote even before they've READ or SEEN the bill.
However, if I may bring something to light that I hope changes your mind on your "greedy" Republican "cheap labor theory". Corporations by and large do not benefit from cheap labor... they are scrutinized by the IRS way too much to get away with that. It's small business owners who would feel the brunt of harsh immigration policy.
In actuality, Bush supports this bill because he has close family who are Mexican, he himself can speak Spanish, and it's the goal of the Republican party (and Democratic party) to get the votes of millions of future Mexicans who will be born in this country from legal or illegal Mexican parents.
Because that's one thing Democrats and Republicans can agree upon-- they want to be re-elected.
I have learn for the pass four years, as they passed, that our government is more about greed then help the people they were put in office to serve. I keep hearing about illegal immigrants this ,illegal immigrants that, what about American citizens?
