Children of previous relationships right to citizenship?

we emigrated to Ireland in 2002 prior to the change in citizenship laws. I now have citizenship via a post nuptual declaration, but I can't find any info (even from immigration directly) on how /when my kids (16 and 12) can apply for citizenship here in Ireland. Any ideas?

Answer:
As you are now an Irish citizen - and presumably still living there - I believe your kids probably are entitled to apply for citizenship. They are your dependents after all. :-)

You should see if maybe you are allowed to put them on the Irish Register of Foreign Births - which is at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin. It's worth a try anyway.
Your children do not require leave to enter or remain in their own right. As an Irish citizen you are also a citizen of the EU. However, if you want to regularise their residence your children can apply for citizenship after they have lived in Ireland for 3 years (although this can be waived in some instances).
