Yes to your question about the border. Our men and women in uniform would actually be doing something for their country, not dying to secure the oil investment for Bushes special interests. Our country and society are being destroyed by the criminals and other low life from Mexico. Many of us in California, Arizona and other southern states feel like we are in Mexican territories rather than America.
I am all for putting the military on the border, I would volunteer in a heart beat if my unit was tasked!

That is an interesting idea, I thought that it might be a training option befroe going to Iraq, at least the climate. We are going to have to do something about illegal immigration, even though most of the politicos aren't interested.

I think that is a wonderful idea, it is sad that no one in congress is doing anything to stop the illegal invasion of our country, and it is not just illegal people coming over, they are bringing their drugs with them. Something needs to be done to stop the lawlessness in our country.
We actually have several thousand National Guard embers at the border right now. Quite a few of the guys that I deployed to Iraq with volunteered after we got back. There was a news report yesterday thanking the guard for the incredible cut in drug and violence.
They are however quite limited as they are primarily spotters, they cannot make arrests for shoot as far as I understand. They are there to serve as support for the Border Patrol and security for the walls/fences being built.
I wish they would term illegal immigration as a military invasion on our country and post a 240B at ever 300 meters or so....

I live in a border state. That stuff has been going on here for years. But people in other states thought we were being mean for being upset. Now you are getting a taste of it. It's only going to get worse.

This is an invasion, no doubt about it. The US military absolutely should be on the border. Troops need to be pulled out of Asia, Europe and the Middle East and a portion of them put on our borders. This situation with the illegal alien invasion will spiral out of control.

When you don't know what you're identity is, other people can dictate that to you. The feds want you to see yourself as cheerful taxpayers and consumers as that keeps driving up tax revenues. We already have the National Guard stationed on the border, but they are not allowed to do the necessary job. They are not allowed to engage armed gangs of thugs from Mexico; they have already retreated when facing the enemy at least one time. The Guard should be given orders to engage the enemy, and they need back up from fighter jets and attack helicopters. If the enemy retreats into Mexico they should be pursued and destroyed!
In addition to this measure, we still need to build a border fence. Thousands of criminals and terrorist sympathizers cross into the US every year from Mexico. Their are over 250,000 illegal aliens imprisoned in state and federal facilities, and it cost billions of dollars very year to house them. The cost of building a border fence is much less than the cost of providing welfare, medicaid, schooling, imprisoning alien criminals, food stamps, and other social programs to illegal aliens and their children.

We need to create a fence like the one on the 38th Parallel with a machinegun nest every 200 feet. Minefield and signs in the front that say stop. It doesn't get much more meat and potatoes than that. "Stop, or we will shoot!" And if they keep coming then fire.
no we should station the INS at the border and make them do there job if we need more INS agents ma bey we should redirect some money to them from either the billions from the war on drugs ( since that is where most the drugs come from) or the billions for the war on terrorism (since that is where it is easiest for terrorist to gain entry from the country.) There are enough laws we just need to enforce them. And whoever said that illegal immigrants do the jobs Americans don't want is full if bull you know what, they just do it cheaper since theire are about 15 of them living in one apartment and the claim 9 on ther dependents for tax returns with someon elses social security # that means they pay almost no taxes.

I think we should do just like how Mexico deals with its illegal alien problem...they deport more illegals and shoot more people trying to cross their southern border than the entire USA. Plus, they have stricter laws on immigration and how they treat foreigners who come to their country.
Of course, they don't have a bunch of nihilistic creeps protesting all of the time, or jerk corporations paying off politicians that will sell their soul and identity to make a buck or get elected.
Seal the borders first, then deal with the illegals here. If they are productive members of society, love America and want to remain here to assimilate into our culture and learn the values that made America great...fine...come up with a program. If, however, they're just treating America as a workplace, don't want to assimilate and just want to turn America into the third-world $#!7hole that they came from...then send 'em back home...that's the kind of atmosphere they apparently want.
