US citizens in the military marrying immigrants with green cards. can they move with you to overseas bases?

I'm A US citizen in the US Navy, and I plan on marrying my girlfriend who is from the Philippines, but is A green card holder living in Hawaii. Next month I transfer to Japan, and I was wanting to know if we get married will she be able to move to Japan with me? Will her status change, will she have to wait or can she just move there with me?

Answer:
Once you are married, she becomes a "military dependent", so yes, she will be able to move with you, if you are shore based. If you are on a ship, you will need to get autorization from Bupers, along with making arrangements for off-base quarters.
I think you need to ask the Navy, they should know.
Normally a green card holder is not supposed to live outside the country for more than six months. So I don't know if she'll be able to move and live with you in Japan. This will best be answered by an immigration officer.
If she already has the green card, then yes she should be okay.
Her status will not change, but she will probably have to keep immigration posted as to her location. My sister in law has to call them every time they change bases.
