I am an American Citizen. Can I become British citizen without getting married there?

How can I become british citizen with my US passport.

Answer:
Do you have any links to the UK? Parents, marriage, lived there? If you answered "no" to all 3 then no.

If you were to marry a British person you still would have to live in the UK for at least 3 years before you could get naturalized.

PS if you have a British parent go for the passport (don't bother paying for the citizenship.. it costs about $1000 US and the passport is about $300 and will let you be a British Overseas Person rather than a British Citizen.
shouldnt be too difficult your our cousin and god knows we need some from the other side of the water not just eastern europeans, no offence but enough is enough
Have a British parent.. For dual nationality
