actually as an american you are not free to travel to cuba from america. you can go to canada and fly to cuba. and more than likely a cuban person as an illegal immigrant will be held by ins then granted citizenship because it is cheaper than deporting

Cubans who immigrate ilegally to the USA and touch land are eligible for documentation. So if they came undocumented, they can stay documented. But they need to learn English, and most Cubans can't.
