most schools will require that you take a test to determine your english skills, it sounds like you are able to communicate at least at a moderate level, go to a library and practice a little with the language tapes they have there then just be youself. good luck!

You need to check the requirements for foreign nurses at the Board of Nursing Website or the Comission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). Apart from the English proficiency exam, you would also need to take and pass the CGFNS and the NCLEX.
The Test is by no means that hard. It will assure that you fully understand what your potential patients are saying and they understand you. From what i see here, you won't have a problem. Hang around real Americans and learn their everyday speech and don't be afraid to ask them what is meant by terms you don't understand...Godd luck and welcome.
