Immigration to Canada?

im from jamaica, my two guardians died last year( my mom and granddad) and we( my sis and i) have an unc and aunt in canada, both citizens. but the problem is they ( canadian embassy) told us that we would get permanency in six week, now its almost six months. and im really upset( no, pissed) cuz i have to dely on school until the papers get through. why are they taking sooooo long and why tell us we would be there soon and now it looks like its taking eternity? i need help!!!

Answer:
It is difficult to wait on this sort of thing especially when you are young. The only reason I can think of for the delay is a backlog due to security issues. Perhaps they have to perform background checks on everyone seeking resident status but don't have enough personnel to do so in a reasonable amount of time. In the days before 911 we didn't have to take off our shoes for examination as we went to board a plane. It is annoying but it has a purpose. Not that it means we are fully secure but they have to try. Even though you might hate the delay what they are doing is for your protection as much as for everyone else.
