Who thinks that the immigration has made this country?
Answer:
You are 100% right! This mixture of all the cultures that are coming into this country have blended and became beautiful USA!
sure it has .... that's why it's called the "melting pot"
But I think something needs to be done in order to slow down illegal and legal immigration. (after the bill passes-- if it does)
Yes. Did you know that diversity is dropping because so much of our immigration comes from just a few countries now?
Legal immigration has built this country. Not illegal immigration. We have every right and duty to protect our schools and services for our own people.
Legal immigration, which ran in cycles, not a constant flow of illegal trespassers.
It's like comparing respectul, invited visitors to your home to illegal home invaders.
Apples to oranges.
As long as they are legal I agree with you
You mean european immigration? yes absolutely!
Well I sorta do but immigration has to stop somewhere or the immigrants will greatly out number the original citizens
Yes certainly but that was then this is now meaning that today there are jobs an american would gladly take that an immigrant is doing and it seems farm workers are getting more benefits so those jobs are not as undesirable as they once were
Whatever immigration has made the US in the past, today the frontier is closed and the US has industrialized, and we don't need to flood the country with tens of millions of uneducated manual laborers.
300 million is enough, and the population will climb to 350 million or 400 million due to immigrants' reproduction. So how many more people do we need? 500 million? A billion? When is there enough?
100% agreed
Immigration=Greatness
Illegal immigration=Downfall of the country.
It was a better place initially until it became as developed as it is now. In the last 25 years America has become the dumping grounds for all the crappiest nations in the world.
well it's called diversity because every country had an opportunity to bring people ( hard working not welfare people) in this country 100 years ago. That is what made USA what it is. Today, is a very different story, you got 70% of the illegals estimated from Mexico and a few other latin countries. Very few of them are from Europe and Asia. That is not what I call the melting pot or a diversity culture. I call what we have now...the united states of Mexico..
Immigration makes all counties, there are very few counties that have the original inhabitants. And yes immigration has made this country great, but it was legal. They also made it on their own, there was no welfare for them or their families
Maybe.
The vast majority of LEGAL US Citizens are born on US Soil hence making them Natives.
The US needed mass LEGAL Immigration a 100 years ago to fill her shores, man her factories...Umm..Now...Uncle Sam's Hotel has NO vacancies.
Sovereignty is NOT Racism.

LEGAL immigration...YES.
ILLEGAL ALIENS, NO!
LEGAL IMMIGRATION has made this country great. When there was a flood of immigrants flowing into New York in the early years of this country, they all had to line up, and and follow the procedures to immigrate. Now we have invaders sneeking in under the cover of darkness, with no intention of assimilating. During the early 1900's when we had the flow coming in, once people were finally granted citizenship, they assimilated to their new homes. I remeber hearing stories from older Italian couples saying how their parents would punish them for not speaking English. They were proud to be Americans. Now we have people who want all of the benefits, and none of the reponsibility. I welcome immigrants to our shores. I say come on in, welcome aboard. But assimilate to our culture. Learn english. AND BE WILLING TO WORK FOR A LIVING! What would happen if i moved to Mexico, and demanded that everything there be in English, as well as Spanish? I would be thrown out of the country! Why should we bend over backwards to help people who wont help themselves. If you arent willing to Learn our language, and respect our customs, GET OUT!!
Yes it has, always will. No one is debating the contributions of the immigrants or even the pleasantries from have many cultures mix. It does however need to be watched and limited so that we do not hurt the people who are citizens, as with everything to much of a good thing can actually harm you.
it's quite e z to sit back as an american, n say no to illegal immigration. but what if u were not an american, n u saw a chance for ur inalienable rights as defined in the constitution. what would u do to come here? stay here?
what defines illegal immigration? isnt it just a window of opportunity; a light switch turned on or off; like a game of "red light green light?"
so legal immigration took place when the light was green, n now, now that we're here n citizens n living our lives while new groups r striving to have what we have, oops! sorry, the light is red...?
o yeah, its illegal to not wear ur seatbelt. why? cuz somebody said so! ha! illegal does not equal wrong.
let's not forget some of the gray area/illegal tactics used during legal immigration by those attempting to gain citizenship during the timeframe of 1892-1954. the same ancestors of those talkin a whole lotta shi+ rite now! many of those who came through Ellis Island certainly weren't rich n weren't necessarily able-bodied.
we r all citizens of this world, which belongs to none of us, n when u die, whatever it is that ur here now trying to protect, which is typically nuthin, u wont keep when ur gone.

just becuz a concept is defined in the Constitution of the United States does not solely bind it as an original idea of that document nor does it mean the idea can't be intercalated with people, places n things outside the document itself and/or the United States of America. inalienable rights as defined in the Constitution of the United States apply to all human beings. so ur sayin we can pick n choose when these rights apply? like in this case of illegal immigration saying they dont apply because for example those coming over from Mexico are not citizens so they have no inalienable rights, n saying it applies in the case of Iraqis to start a war in efforts to relieve the people of a "tyrant" for the sake of democracy so the Iraqis who aren't citizens have inalienable rights. get the @#$% outta here!
also, inalienable rights is a concept of truth, universally. the rights everyone was born with, unable to be distinguished upon any distinguishable characteristics human beings may possess (black/white, male/female, tall/small, U.S. citizen/Not U.S. citizen, etc.). thus, inalienable rights are not completely contained in the Constitution of the United States (as though they are not contained, or better put, practiced in all countries), hence the several amendments to the document which evinces those who have the power to influence it pulled their heads outta their azz in relation to that specific amendment idea.
this is not a point of view, it's objectivity! after all, i did pull it outta...
LEGAL immigration has!
If you weren't born in the US and your parents weren't US citizens then you have no" inalienable rights as defined in the Constitution".Constitutional rights only apply to citizens of this country.
Differing cultures do not make a better nation. It only makes a different country. We have always had different cultures and mostly those various cultures have blended together into one culture, each enjoying a bit of the other without any being forced upon one. What we have now, though, is a culture (Hispanic) being forced upon us whereas we are expected to suddenly become bi-lingual and kiss a** just to accommodate the illegal among them. It is not healthy for this country and America in 50 years will look more like a third world nation than Mexico does today because of it. But hell, who cares? Not the president or Congress!
America was made by the Immigrants that came here over 200 years ago, not by the illegals of the last 50 years and that is for sure, my little "chelupa".
if it wouldn't be because the variety of races, think about it, this will sucks.
not
If they are legal and they intergrate into their adopted country.
I do and that is a fact come on this is what this country was founded on and that is if you have ever read the inscription on the tablet of the statue of liberty.
But you can not compare too it what is going on now in this country with immigration it is out of hand and has been since it all started in 1986,two totally different views of how immigration has helped this country, and whether you want to admit it or see it one did help and one is hurting and that is a fact with the burden it is putting on states and the government and who's fault is it those bozos from the White House to Congress we elected to office who have not been during there job to secure our borders and the American, people which that is there job to do.
Legal immigration has made this country better. Criminal immigration, by illegal aliens, is lowering this countries standard of living.
