I am so angry my visa was denied just because I didn't show enough links with my country mex.. maybe because I

am a student?? according the fat woman who was the consul.. told me the law of USA it's very strict with the students.. but in what aspect? ... the more horrible of this you have to pay 100 dollars for trying to get the visa.. the appointment.. bah I prayed so much for it.. it didn't happen...

Answer:
I am with you in your anger ~ my daughter and I cannot see each other because she is a student and very recently got a job, so to the US Consulate that means she does not have a proof that she will be back to Russia.

The real reason is that she is 20 years old and is not married. US Consulate is worried that she will get married in the USA and stay.

Unfortunately, US Consuls like to play little Gods and do not care about you or me and my daughter.
your question escapes me?
Wow... look out everyone.. endangered species alert! A Mexican applying for a visa.
It is because so many from your country overstay (it is called a country's 'visa failure rate'). It makes it harder for those of you who are trying to do it right.

I'm sorry about that.
Not to burst your bubble, but I'm unaware of any country that DOES NOT charge a fee for visa applications ... I've applied for visas for several countries, and guess what ... some of them are much more expensive that $100 (and I've been denied).

Life isn't always fair ... if you really want something then don't give up when the going gets tough.
I understand that they want to be sure you are coming back to Mexico. That is what the "links" to your country are about. If you are married, own a house, have a job, money in the bank, are a member of a sports team, etc. you are more likely to get the visa. They worry that someone who is young and not set in your country will go to the U.S. and not return home. Try to think of ways you are connected to Mexico and take proof of that when you apply for your visa. Good luck!!
ok, here goes...

F-Academic Students and M-Vocational Students Requirements

Foreign students seeking to study in the U.S. may enter in the F-1 or M-1 category provided they meet the following criteria:

The student must be enrolled in an "academic" educational program, a language-training program, or a vocational program;
The school must be approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS);
The student must be enrolled as a full-time student at the institution;
The student must be proficient in English or be enrolled in courses leading to English proficiency;
The student must have sufficient funds available for self-support during the entire proposed course of study; and
The student must maintain a residence abroad which he/she has no intention of giving up.

If any of these requirements are NOT met you can be refused.please note the last requirement...you must show more than adequate evidence or links to USCIS that you have ties at home that will obligate you to go home after your education has been aquired. If not, then they can deny you and thats what they did. Opinion? Try again, but show overwhelming evidence that you HAVE to return home after schooling. I wish you luck...at least you tried to do it the right way.
You were scammed out of your money, the same happened to me trying to get my wife a visa to visit my family in the states.
She did not show she had a good reason to return, to Thailand was the answer, You can apply again,but of course, must pay the visa filing fee again with your "new" request, this is the standard practice of the US embassy's all over the world.
Student visas were created to be and are meant to be temporary.
Links to home nations are required to show compliance with the provisions of student visa permits.
It is not the consul lady's fault. It is not the fault of the law. The law is place for the protection of Americans and our society, not for benefit of foreign nationals.
Your nation has much stricter laws than ours.
My daughter attends a university with many foreign students, including many from Mexico. Obviously, they complied with and met the standards required. They are to be commended for their efforts. Perhaps, you will have a better chance if you apply your energy to compliance, not whining about the situation or insulting the lady who attempted to explain to you where your application was lacking.
the fat woman at the desk had nothing to do with your status.
complain somewhere else.
stay in mexico and get educated there and save the $100!
