Entering Canada?

Hi, I'm just looking for the easiest & best route, if thats possible. I live in Ontario and am legally seperated, my bf is Amercian. We also have a child together. We'd like to live together in Ontario and he cross to USA daily to work. Whats the best choice in getting a visa or what can we apply for???That would prevent all these headaches the Canada Immigration give us each time he crosses for a visit.
