The NY Times calls Sessions and Senators opposing the bill "the disloyal opposition". Do you agree?

Who, exactly, are our Senators supposed to be loyal TO?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/07/washin...

"“This outnumbered handful of senators has done amazing work in forcing both the other senators and America to see what is in this bill,” said Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations for Numbers USA, a group opposed to the bill. “They take a lot of heat from their colleagues, but they are on the side of the American people.”

The opponents have tried to highlight what they see as glaring inadequacies in the legislation, working with outside interest groups to point out problems, potential costs in social services and the fact that it was drafted in closed negotiations by the administration working with about a dozen senior lawmakers. "

So, is the NY Times right, or is Numbers USA right?

Answer:
They are supposed to be loyal to the people that put them in office and pay their wages. If you had employees that were not doing as they were told, they wouldn't be around long.
NY Times is the disloyal Marxist traitors.
Our senators should be loyal to us the voter! Numbers USA is very correct because the fact is, very few US senators are fighting this bill entirely and seeing it from what it is "amnesty!". I would really not waste my time reading the NY times and liberal media like that. To get the real story and the facts, go to secondary media like slate.com etc. I don't even bother reading the main media. I listen to Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs for the real news and read alternative media. The liberal main media wants to cloud the brains of people into believing that this " bill" is great for USA, when in reality, it will destroy the economy of this country in no time.
What I really think I can not say on this forum due to restrictions but I will say this, everyone owes those few Senators a pat on the back for making many of the "issues" with this bill come into the light of day, back room politics and secrecy is NOT a good practice.

Without those Senators many of the serious issues of this bill, would be unknown and it would have been sent through the Senate at the speed of light and onwards to Congress to possible become another law that would do more harm than good.

By the way, having experts evaluate a bill for potential harm is a very intelligent thing to do.. Force feeding a bill to the public and making it law is a really bad idea, some in the Senate, which I will not name, are now discovering this.
The NY Times doesn't actually call them the disloyal opposition. They say that they are called the disloyal opposition, in reference to the fact that they are opposing many in their own party, including the president. The article actually presents the two sides and THEIR opinions. The article actually doesn't really take a side of its own.
Why would those who speak to the real issues and try to promote what's in the best interest of the middle class tax payer, both in terms of quality of life and to cost, are labeled the disloyal opposition. Bernie Sanders is giving them that what for, a voice of reason.
The NY Times people are pro-illegals. So whatever they have to say is NOT worth reading.
Numbers don't lie.

Either you are for America or you are against it! You can't ride the fence on this one.
I like and am in favor for any of them to be in opposition of this bill. They are and have always been suppose to be loyal to the American people, and Americas best interests, and no one else's. Reid doesn't want to pull it yet because the ones in favor of the bill still think they can get some of the others to switch positions. Keep writing, calling, and faxing. Kill the Bill!!

You know what I want to happen is for this bill to fail. A new one with issues and concerns put together by the American public only for them to put together and vote on. In the mean time the 840 plus fence that Bush signed into law put up by that private company out of California. The one that put up those freeways that collapsed here not too long ago in a matter of weeks, and during that earthquake many years back in a matter of months. No more ***** footing around in delaying the border fence. H*ll I'd even like to see in build 100's of feet underground too, and any tampering with it registering on some sort of rector machine.
Liberal rag, you tell me...
The immigration bill has really made me rethink my political leanings. Historically, I have leaned to the liberal side. On some issues, I still do. But on this issue, I stand straight up for
common sense. On an economic level, we cannot afford this legislation. On a historical level, we have always welcomed those who came here to contribute to our society, but those who protest our language, our values, and demand more and more from us I cannot believe deserve what is tantamount to amnesty. I cannot support this bill. I would support one that
was based on common economic and social sense.
My hat is off to the Senators who are working to oppose the bill. One of my state's senators has lost any future vote from me. I am watching their votes at the link below.
