Senators who voted for Cloture on 6/26/07 then changed their minds and voted against cloture on 6/28/07 (YAY)
Please take note that most of the “wobblers” are up for re-election in 2008 (next year). I think their votes display their worry over being re-elected.
If you live in their state, then work hard to put in someone who publicly pledges to insist on a secure border and who will DEMAND that current immigration law be enforced.
Out of the 17 who changed their vote (listed below) an astounding 9 (53%) are up for election in 2008. That should tell you why they voted the way they did. They are worried about their re-election so they voted their own self-interest……………not what is best for our country.
We really need to pound on these people. Remind them how easily they can be “former senator so-and-so”.
Bingaman (D-NM)--- up for re-election 2012— horrible immigration record (he was a senator in 1986 for that rotten immigration bill )

Answer:
GOD BLESS YOU and thank you for doing our homework for us. I only hope people will remember this when they go to polls.
Do you feel sad that your political aspirations were never realized?
As I recall, Coleman was pushing for an amendment that would allow cops to check immigration status.
When that was voted down, he switched his vote.
Since a peson can't run for 2 or more offices at the same time Senator Brownback will not be a Senator come 2009 unless he drops out of the Presidential race in enough time to anounce his reelction candidacy for Senator of Kansas. So I doubt he changed his mind in order to ensure reelection. I also am sure is is not stupid enough to believe he has a chance for the Presidency either so that is most likely not his reason for changing votes. I could not begin to imagine what did change his mind, but just thought I would throw this information in there with all your names and immigration records.
Rats... no one for me to vote out! If I even get to vote... they seem to have a problem sending absentee ballots to family members of those serving overseas...
