Probably. The Home Office can't even track the crimes committed by Brits abroad, let alone screen the data of every immigrant.

probably not, but it depends on wether you served a prison sentence or not but over here we have whats called the rehabilitation of offenders act and that states that if you have paid you debt to society and not reoffended for 10 yrs then you are clear, yet that excludes sex offences and terrorist acts or treason. we are easier here than you there as i was turned down to get a green card as i have some convictions from years ago and i have a 2yr old son in new jersey.
