If we deported all Illegal Immigrants, how would the economy be affected?

Your thoughts?

Answer:
I think poor Americans and legal immigrants would have more job opportunities, wages would go up, and we'd all be shiny, happy people.

Businesses may want what amounts to "slave labor", but the American people don't, and our poor people want the jobs unskilled illegals take. I'm sure the people who pay to have statistics done will want the researchers to say the economy will suffer, and they will say exactly that. BUT, in the long run, the economy will improve and we won't lose our middle class.

So, they gotta go...
You decide, my friend...

for the better
fewer leeches to support that take out more than they put into the economy
if it was done slowly there would be a lower unemployment rate among legal citizens... long term results would be better schools, lower crime, easier access to health care.. ect..
You will see a significant effect. These people have become a force in the economy affecting grocery stores, used car lots, marketers of gold and silver jewelry, pro soccer teams, apartments complexes and janitorial and food processing companies just to name a few.
The buying power that these people represent is amazing. If the unions were smart they would do all they can to salvage the immigration proposal on capitol hill. These immigrants could be the answer to bringing back the labor unions to the prominence they once held.
i dont know cuz i dont support illegal immigrant. they came to the us illegally, born like 5-10 children here and share all our benefit without paying tax.
If we deported them all it once, it might cause a sudden shock because there are all these jobs that need filling. If we spread it out over time, the greatest effect would be paying 20 extra cents on a rare piece of American produce.
12 million people would sure tie up all the travel facilities for a few months. Less human excrement left on street corners where they gathered to seek work. Few people to do our gardening, stoop labor crop work, and lots of other dirty jobs.
But why deport? Ship them to Hormel, Swift, Armour, BoarsHead, etc. Better quality than the poisonous junk China send us, and no payouts to foreigners to hurt our balance of payments. And some illegals would go home on their own money rather than have the taxpyers cover deportation costs if we did this.
There would be dislocation and housing prices would go down (a boon for some, of course), and our GDP would be downsized to our new population...But the SLICES of the pie would get bigger again for the working and middle class.

And of course, they wouldn't be sending billions out of the country, so our balance of trade would be better.
Most Americans wouldn't notice. Border states would suddenly have a tax surplus. Don't forget to return the 500,000 in our prisons.
Not to beat the dead horse, but we would have a lot less expenses in healthcare. Not because I believe every single illegal uses the system, but the fact that all illegals don't pay taxes and those that do use government healthcare get free services from the government that is funded through taxes (thus draining the system more than a taxpayer needing healthcare would) People insist we need illegals for their labor but really employers just take advantage of them and pay them way under what they're worth. So I guess some businesses would have to hire citizens and pay more? (Which might lead to a raise in prices but as I understand it there are not that many illegals employed (In retail stores) because of the law and stuff...)
Yard Sale income would plummet, course so would auto insurance rates
It's hard to say. Illegal immigrants pick the fruits/vegetables that you stuff your face with.
might hurt awhile - but not as much as me paying for free health care for foreigners
The law of supply and demand would return to labor and we would no longer even need minimum wages. Wages would go up drastically. There are those that would argue that costs of living would go up with wages but the poor would still be on top. Illegal aliens send billions of dollars out of our economy to their home countries. with the additional money recirculating into our own economy, we would experience the economic boom we were supposed to experience from technological advancements over the last 50 years (which has been offset by this kind of corruption). We would still have our "poor", but our idea of poor would be something like having only one car.
I think the economy would be very effected. I am sure some of the southern states will benefit specially hostipals, but also many things would be more expensive. No legal person will want to pick tomatoes all day for minumum wage.
