Why is the Catholic Church for amnesty?
1900: The duty of obedience requires all to give due honor to authority and to treat those who are charged to exercise it with respect, and, insofar as it is deserved, with gratitude and good-will.
Pope St. Clement of Rome provides the Church's most ancient prayer for political authorities: "Grant to them, Lord, health, peace, concord, and stability, so that they may exercise without offense the sovereignty that you have given them. Master, heavenly King of the ages, you give glory, honor, and power over the things of earth to the sons of men. Direct, Lord, their counsel, following what is pleasing and acceptable in your sight, so that by exercising with devotion and in peace and gentleness the power that you have given to them, they may find favor with you."

As a catholic against amnesty, i can't understand why the church is for it.Why can't we enforce our laws?
Answer:
I was raised Catholic but I am outraged that the church is advocating illegal immigration. The Catholic Church has lots of rules that don't make sense to me, like using a condom is a sin. So you just have to keep having children even if you can't afford it. Either that or don't have sex. Makes no sense.
Why is the Catholic Church for amnesty? Because 99.9% of the illegal Mexicans are Catholic. I won't go further with this because I do not wish to offend anyone.
Because the issue is larger than national boundaries.
Simple answer? Because the vast majority of the illegal aliens are catholic. This is nothing more than a business decision for the catholic church. More members means more money in the collection baskets.
1. Many of the Mexicans are Catholics
2. Jesus, forgiveness, holyness, love thy neighbor, etc.
Here are some scriptures supporting aliens:
Leviticus 19:10
Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 25:35
" 'If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you.
Deuteronomy 24:14
Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns.
Deuteronomy 31:12
Assemble the people—men, women and children, and the aliens living in your towns—so they can listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and follow carefully all the words of this law.
Exodus 22:21
"Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in Egypt.
Leviticus 19:34
The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Psalm 146:9
The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
Leviticus 19:34
The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
The Pope is NOT God. If you really want to know what to do with aliens then read God's word. The Bible makes no distinction between "legal" or "illegal" because it's MAN that places those kinds of labels on people, not God. It amazes me that so called Christians bash these people, we are all equal in God's eyes and at the end of the day, you will account for your own actions on this earth, not how some illegal effected your comfort zone...
LOL
I'd like to see if you are able to :
* work in the trash truck
* harvest
* building (standing outside hours and more hours in the sun)
* cleaning bathrooms
once these people is sent back to their countries.
You should think before talk (or write).
:)
Most Mexicans are Catholic. In the USA, the Catholic population is falling. They need and want more Catholics. Cardinal Mahoney in Los Angeles is a big supporter of illegals. Not only that, he also supports child molesting priests, but that's another subject.
BECAUSE ONE OF THE TEACHINGS OF THE CHURCH IS
FORGIVENESS.. HOOOOO ! YOU FORGOT, GET OFF THE COMPUTER FOR A MINUTE READ THE BIBLE .
When invoking a paragraph in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it MUST be in context with all other paragraphs.
The manner in which you've chosen to interpret paragraph 1900 is not in sync with other paragraphs concern:
The duties of citizens
2238 Those subject to authority should regard those in authority as representatives of God, who has made them stewards of his gifts: "Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution. . . . Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God." Their loyal collaboration includes the right, and at times the duty, to voice their just criticisms of that which seems harmful to the dignity of persons and to the good of the community.
2239 It is the duty of citizens to contribute along with the civil authorities to the good of society in a spirit of truth, justice, solidarity, and freedom. The love and service of one's country follow from the duty of gratitude and belong to the order of charity. Submission to legitimate authorities and service of the common good require citizens to fulfill their roles in the life of the political community.
2240 Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, to exercise the right to vote, and to defend one's country:
Pay to all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
[Christians] reside in their own nations, but as resident aliens. They participate in all things as citizens and endure all things as foreigners. . . . They obey the established laws and their way of life surpasses the laws. . . . So noble is the position to which God has assigned them that they are not allowed to desert it.
The Apostle exhorts us to offer prayers and thanksgiving for kings and all who exercise authority, "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way."
2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.
Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.
2242 The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel. Refusing obedience to civil authorities, when their demands are contrary to those of an upright conscience, finds its justification in the distinction between serving God and serving the political community. "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."48 "We must obey God rather than men":49
When citizens are under the oppression of a public authority which oversteps its competence, they should still not refuse to give or to do what is objectively demanded of them by the common good; but it is legitimate for them to defend their own rights and those of their fellow citizens against the abuse of this authority within the limits of the natural law and the Law of the Gospel.50
2243 Armed resistance to oppression by political authority is not legitimate, unless all the following conditions are met: 1) there is certain, grave, and prolonged violation of fundamental rights; 2) all other means of redress have been exhausted; 3) such resistance will not provoke worse disorders; 4) there is well-founded hope of success; and 5) it is impossible reasonably to foresee any better solution.
It's all about money... It has nothing to do with anything else. Just like in Europe the Catholic church is losing it's luster due to child molestation charges and political meddling. They are losing followers something fierce so they want all the illegals to join up and give them money.
Because is big bussines.
