Hss anyone actually LOOKED at this immigration reform bill? How can you NOT call this amnesty?
Illegal aliens would be required to pay taxes for only three of the previous five years; U.S. citizens or permanent residents who tried to pay only three of the previous five years of taxes would be violating the law and subject to prosecution.
Under The Bill, illegal aliens would be forgiven their Social Security fraud, even though such fraud is normally punishable by fines of up to $500,000 and five years in prison.
It would allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past work, regardless of their ability to demonstrate what, if any, payments they had made into the system
If this isn’t amnesty, I don’t know what is. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we should send them back to their cardboard box in Mexico, but I don’t think they should get more benefits than US citizens do, either.
What can we do about this? Or Congress is selling our country, is there anything we can do?

You see, this is the problem. People DON'T look into these issues and learn the facts before giving an opinion. You did your homework. Americans are so busy working that they don't take the time to educate themselves regarding these extremely important issues that impact our lives. Thanks for making me better informed about this bill. It is ludicrous and SO typical. Just remember this: Once the illegals have their citizenship and their rights, they become VOTERS. The pandering NEVER stops.
EDIT: The bill has crashed and burned. I have had some time to think this thing over, and I am wondering if having the benefit of hundreds of thousands of new citizens paying INTO social security would offset any negative aspects of not having contributed in the past. Perhaps the rules for COLLECTING Social Security would have to be revised for these new citizens. The same may be true for tax dollars pouring in from these new citizens and a boost to the US economy. Just some thoughts.

Congress is selling out the USA...one thing that you can do is call, write and fax the officials.
You have to realize, the Jews that run the Federal Government hate Americans, and they are doing everything in their power to bring down our Republic.

I have read the bill, and there is nothing about this that isn't just plain wrong. They are putting a "FOR SALE" sign on the path to citizenship while granting the same amnesty to convicted criminals. If this bill passes, we need to see all new faces in Washington over the next 2 elections.
Because Bush told us that if we call it amnesty, we are un american, and using empty rhetoric to scare people. Don;t worry, he said that about us when we were against the war in Iraq too...I am used to it. Probably take you guys who support him a bit longer to accept those types of remarks...afterall, you haven't endured 6 years of that abuse. Oh, and don;t forget, you better respect him! Even if he doesn't give a rat's behind what his constituents think...

The only bill that should be passed is one that punishes employers for hiring illegals. If no one hires them, and take away the gov't handouts, then there would be no reason for illegals to come over here.

My Dad's 25k salary was considered by the government sufficient enough to make ends meet.
All I can say is thank God I have generous grandparents and I was working a good job when I wasn't in school. It was the only way we kept the bill collectors at bay.
You didn't read the bill either.Or you'd know the fine is five thousand.And Wikipedia is such an invalid source of information High Schools ban it's use for research.People can add their own things to it.It's not a true source of facts didn't you know that?
How can Social Security be in trouble if they are willing to open it up to people who have not paid into it?

There are too many questions about this. Every patriot should be enraged over this.
Is there someting we can do? Yes. Vote out every single person involved in this. Get rid of McCain, Kennedy, Reid and the like.
Start voting independently or for third parties, because a crook is a crook, no matter what side of the aisle.
It will pass they will be legal and isn't that what all you Americans are crying about them not being legal well there it is they'll be legal and US citizens and live happy like they deserve to.
Amnesty doesn't let you keep what you took illegally, and continue to take more. Amnesty would be erasing the record, imposing no penalty, but returning them to their countries. It isn't amnesty, it is something else.
However, there is no question that billions of poor all over the world would jump at the deal only being offered to those illegally here, were it offered to them.

It is amnesty and I have started a movement here on Y/A. In any political answeradd VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS. tRY TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE TO DO THIS AS POSSIBLE. The politicians don't seem to care what the people want, so I say vote em' all out.
