What do you think of the immigration bill--do you think it will work?
Answer:
Seal the border then we can discuss reforming the system and allowing the people here to stay. Until they stop the flow, i am not in favor of legalizing anything. it would be like holding up a sign that said free food at a weight watchers convention, you won't be able to stop the hoard coming over after we tell everyone here they are legal. Not to mention, who's going to manage the penalty payments and the data collection? The same people that run the DMV. It is a joke.
The Dems want to build up their voting base.
The Reps want cheap labor...
Screw us regular folks.
Call your senators and congressmen and let them know that if they vote for this bill, you will vote against them. then follow your statement up with actions!
because this time democrats would make immigrants pay taxes.
not in favor of it, at the very least it won't work for the same reasons that the laws in place now don't they don't inforce them enough. What it will do is suck even more money out of the coffers as it fails to do what they say
I think it is crap! We don't need any more laws, we need to enforce the laws that are already on the books!
No, it wont work. They need to ENFORCE the laws and it isn't happening now, what will change for the future? NOTHING! They WANT the illegal aliens to become citizens because it helps erase the borders, so they can continue with the NORTH AMERICAN UNION!
No it won't work. Enforcement is not only still discretionary, there is a 'humanitarian' caveat throughout. Even OMB says it would only cut illegal immigration by 13%, and while the rest continued (and grew) it would double legal immigration and create a new category of 'temporary' workers to overstay.
Then, in case everyone didn't get amnesty the first time, there would be a new 10 year statute of limitations to give a rolling amnesty going forward to anyone who could get in and stay for 10 years. How many more will THAT bring? And then there is the completely gratuitous and outrageous sense of the congress in section 213 that would 'accelerate the Security and Prosperity Partnership,' an unconstitutional treaty Bush entered into with the heads of Canada and Mexico without Congressional debate, oversight or ratification.
There is so much bad in this bill there is no way to address it all. It just needs to die.
It will work for the illegal immigrants, and for the employers who hire them, but it won't work for American citizens, especially the middle class working American Citizens. Our Senators are selling us out!!
why would it work?
If they can't follow current laws to come here, why would they follow new laws and pay more fines than they would have had in fees in the first place.
The new law just takes away the part where a deported individual cannot achieve legal status or get a green card. An illegal will still need to get fingerprinted, background checked, and documented, which that is all they had to do in the first place. But now they have to get behind legals and pay additional tremendous fines. Like they are really going to do this when they did not even start to do so in the first place.
Yes, I've read it.
It is a flawed piece of legislative poo.
No bill will work until the border is secured. They did the same thing in 1986,
