Has anyone ever been to Mexico to live for a little while?
Answer:
i am a US citizen and lived in Mexico for about 3 yrs! I can tell u right now that it is not easy unless u r willing to adapt. financially, i would have to say that u need to take some money to Mexico so u will be able to live off of it for some time. cost of living is high and they pay low wages, so if u have a house w/relatives then its ok but then comes privacy issues. Rent is high, groceries and clothes cost almost double there. U can get a job as an english teacher in a elementary school, but regular jobs usually pay low and wont cut it if u plan to live on ur own. It happens everyday but u have to be ready for a change.
If your an American citizen, you can't work in Mexico. No such thing as working without documents there.Unlike our country, they strictly enforce there immigration and labor laws.Even if you could work there legally, they have a huge unemployment rate.
My advise to you, find another boyfriend.Your way out of your league.
To each their own, but in that country and yes I mean "that" country, good luck,,,,,,,,,
i heard it's beautiful. i worked with a white woman who sold everything to be with her husband in mexico, he got deported. she writes and says shes working and she loves it there.
Wow, how old are you? Moving to Mexico is a very big step, not something to take lightly. I did it 3 years ago and it has been very difficult. Once you get use to all the differences in the cultures, it becomes easier.
I would not move here because your boyfriend is thinking about it. You need to think this through more, you will be cut off from your family and friends and have to make new ones. Do you speak spanish? Are you tough skinned? You will not make anywhere near what you can make up north unless you own your own business and good luck with that. I am not trying to paint an ugly picture, just want you to be more realistic
I dont have the answer to the question, but I was kind of wanting to know the same thing. I am curious what it would be like if we decided to move to mexico as well.
Yes if you are bilingual in both English and Spanish it will be easier to find a job. Your employer can give you a letter to take to "Relaciones Exteriores" so you can get a special permit to work legally in Mexico. Here is a link... I hope it helps. Best of luck.
