I vote. And the very people I voted for to lead the people are bowing down to others and not being leaders at all.
Is it just me? Or do we have inferiors in this current government?

We have arrogance and ignorance in our government today ! I`ll go with this one !!....You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong! You cannot help small men by tearing down big men ! You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich ! You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer ! You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income ! You cannot further brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred ! You cannot establish security on borrowed money ! You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man`s initiative and independence ! You cannot help men by doing for them what they should and could be doing for themselves !

We have rich people in office. They just want to become richer. Where are all of the Honest Abe's? Or even the Dwight Eisenhower's when you need them?
The context of the quote is important, though. Plato was admonishing the fact that many of the wealthier people in Athens considered themselves "above" the Ekklesia and failed to be there when there were important votes.
So, in The Republic, Plato is being somewhat facetious: they didn't vote because they considered themselves "too superior" to participate, that's why Plato mentions "your inferiors."
Beyond that, it could be added that any citizen who, being in disagreement with the direction the politics in their city, state or country take, refuses to actively participate in them, is quite "inferior" to those who actually take the time and make an effort to be part of the big picture.
He also said "Who will guard us against the Guardians?"
It only happens when we vote with our Emotions, instead of
using Logic to analyze the persons past stand on the issues.
