I just had a talk with afriend from public health from San Bernadino, and he told me migrants was the main cause of TB in his county. I told him I was under the impression legal immigrants from asia was the main cause, And he inform me it is for LA county, which is where I get my Info on TB. I think its over exagerated, but its still a threat. My freind told me that he just got a report that TB cases is decreasing in L.A.. What scares me is why Asian immigrants still is a major source of TB. He told me most of the TB cases came from the boat people. That was a long time ago. I asked him why it took so long for us to find out they have TB; don't we screen them? He said yes, but most of them test positive on the skin test. I knew that was no biggie, but further prodded him, asking him don't we give X-rays to those testing positive for the skin test for TB. He said yes, but some of them bribe people to switch X-rays so they would show up as clean. He said that we eventually catch some of them under sputum. Catching TB in the sputum is like rolling the dice. As for the idiot border patrol that let the TB carrier in to the US, I wonder why he disreguarded wht the computer told him to do.
that's why my family will not eat anywhere that we know any mexicans work, cause you can't tell illegals from the legals and I'm not taking such a big risk with my children or myself!
Don´t worry, in Mexico all the women, which have a child in a hospital or by a doctor, receive a vaccination book with their appointments of all the most common infectious diseases. A no vaccinated person is seldom.
If it wasn´t so, with the number of illegal immigrants which cross the border, you would have a big epidemic since years!
