Crossing the border?

Considering that such a hot (and frequent topic) is illegal immigrants (especially the Mexican ones) I was wondering how hard it was to cross the border paperwork, gates etc) legally and illegally.

And before anyone asks.. I'm Australian and have no intention of trying this..

Answer:
well if you know some English and could name a few places in the us, then youre good. They use families or friends birth certificates. that's the easy way, the other way is to a run for it. there's usually hidden roads. Also coyotes, they will do it for like $1700 and they wont let the people go until their family pays. Dont get mad at me for knowing. i was born here.
Well know that we have up to 20 million illegals in America right now, it must not be that hard.
PROBABLY HARDER THEN WRESTLING SOME CROCKS. ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S BEEN SUGGESTED TO DUMP THEM LEATHER GOODS ON THE RIO GRANDE RIVER...
(for belts,boots,wallets/purses,etc... Which would have made beautiful apparels..
well I believe our problem begin in the US immigration office
is to slow is to expensive they just raise the green card fee
from $300 to $1000 illegal immigrants they don't have money
that is one reason why they come here illegally

then many illegal immigrants they can't apply
cause they have a criminal background

I come here legally total cost is around $ 2500
US immigration lawyer, green card fee, citizenship fee

now you can understand when there is not money
the only possibility for this people is come here illegally

solutions? I don't know when people are poor are poor
so we deal with poverty or we close the border
I think this is the current problem in US
you can walk across the border at the crossings and enter the us for the day with nothing more than local documents; in texas border towns like eagle pass and juarez people live on one side and work on the other. the real immigration catch location is usually about 25 miles outside of town on the highways back towards civilization. many people cross legally on a day pass and then run the gauntlet trying to get past the 25 mile check station.
immigration is a smoke screen put out by the 2 major parties to polorize people keep real issues out of the news. issues like change of the social fabric and real financial issues, tax reform, tort reform, education, international policy, etc.
the fact is the more people entering the us the better the economy does, and the low wage workers are required to fuel the growth. maybe the average uneduacted red-neck doesn't understand that, but the politicos in dc do.
300 us dollars gets you in
If I catch a coyote I will put a bullet in it head.
Its just a ******* dog that’s rabid.
if they have the money to pay a coyote they have the money to better their lives or to do it legal!
I think the origin of this problems is the corrupted politician in our countries (I am Mexican), which don´t care, they leave without chances our people in the rural areas (I saw many times next to our highways tons of fruits and vegetables rotting, because somebody decided don´t buy the farmers the product of their job.

So, this people don´t have anything to lose, if they die, have to work for a coyote or do something illegal, it´s the last they think when they start their way...

Legal or illegal, it costs a lot to do it...
Nowadays it costs them anywhere from $2k to $3K for a coyote. It will take you a few days to be able to cross, they can get caught many times but eventually they'll get in. Every time a border patrol officer lets you loose in Mexico they'll tell you "see you tomorrow guys".

It will cost you around $5K to $7K to come here legally and you'll have to wait anywhere from 5 to 10 years for a visa (if you are approved and have enough money). The problem with the visa is that you have to prove that you have enough assets in your home country ----- reason being is they don't want you to come here and stay here to work. Another choice is for someone to sponsor you, when they do, they are basically stating that they're responsible for making sure you have enough money to survive. You are not allowed to get government help and have to report taxes every year (if you work) or your sponsor will get fined.

The problem is that there's many people can't wait 5 to 10 years. For some it's a matter of survival, they have to come here to feed their families.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we should have open borders and let everyone in. I just think that the people that can prove they're here to abide by the rules, obey the laws, pay taxes and will NOT rely on the government to support them should get a chance.
