Can foreigner buy second hand property in New Zealand ?

Hi !,

My questions is, can foreigner buy a second hand property in New Zealand ? Does any laws or policy that apply to foreigner buying second hand property ?

Thank You.

Answer:
I don't really know. I used to live in Hawaii and if you were not of a Hawaiian background, you can only get a 99 year lease on the land. I would call the New Zealand embassy if I were you.My friend just spent a month there, said it was great but very expensive.
what is second hand land?never heard of that.
