I am american. if I am sponsored by company in canada what is cost. can gay partner come as my spouse?

Basically we did the civil partnership and my partner is British so we want to be close to America and Canada is the only option. I have a friend who will sponsor me in canada in a restaurant. Could my gay partner just come with me or would he need a cisa of some kind. We did the civil partnership.

Also, gay marriages are legal in at least some Canadian Provinces. Your partner may need a visitor visa while applying for residency ... again, read through the documents on that website, and contact an immigration lawyer or the Canadian consulate if you need more definite information.
