Is this propaganda or simply reporting the facts on the immigration bill?
Hoo, boy! If we support this bill we’ll get “tough new measures.” This must be a great bill for controlling immigration, if you take this statement at face value.
The assertion of “tough new measures” is simply stated as fact. What if the reader doesn’t know the 1986 amnesty bill also contained tough new measures that were never enforced? What if the reader doesn’t know that the much-ballyhooed 700-mile fence on the 1600-mile-long border the last congress authorized has not been built and is not even planned to be completed, ever? Would the anti-immigration reader have a positive attitude towards the “tough new measures,” or would the reader be skeptical?
Isn’t this how propaganda works, to select the “facts” to include in the information you put forward, and to not discuss other facts that might detract from the conclusion you want the audience to reach?
Answer:
These 'tough new border security measures' would vastly cut the number of required border patrol officers and will cut the fence in half.
The only reason they can 'spin' that into tougher border security is that once they passed the bill for the fence and border patrol overwhelmingly before the election, they ignored it. So what is in the new bill would be more than there is now, although it would be less than law already requires.
Oh, yeah, I'M convinced they're strengthening the border.
And this makes people say 'but border security folks, it give you what you want!'
ASSUMING they don't read the bill, which most don't.
You should know you're an expert at that right?
absolutely! the fledging lat is try to factualize something that is REALLY more DEPORABLE in order to satisfy the few big dollar people they have left in their pockets.
Yes it is how propaganda works...and its pathetic.Dont give the americans all the facts..give them what they wants us to know.
Propaganda.

WHAT ARE OUR REPS THINKING?? THIS IS NUTS!
The Senate voted 51-46 to reject a proposal by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, "to bar criminals" - including those ordered by judges to be deported - from gaining legal status. Democrats siphoned support from Cornyn's proposal by winning adoption, 66-32, of a rival version that would bar a more "limited set of criminals", including certain gang members and sex offenders, from gaining legalization.

Talk about propaganda, the illegals have tried to make this a racial issue instead of a legal one. You know those feed the children commercials on TV, that's the mentality of the pro illegals. Why not hold so-called responsible adults responsible for the children they bring into the world, knowing they can't possibly feed them and the illegals bringing innocent children across the border to become criminals at the hands of their parents! Unfortunately, neither group of these parents seem to see their crimes against humanity and stand hands open for help from you and me for not being responsible for their own acts! I have no sympathy for this type of adult and sadly they have no conscience about what they're doing to their families. I suppose tough measures mean only arrest and release twenty times instead of a thousand times. Not good enough. We can't afford to become a charitable institution if we want to give our own children and grandchildren any kind of future.
Yes, this is EXACTLY how propaganda works...what they are forgetting though is that MANY people were around in 1986 when amnesty was given the first time...cr*p, it was ONLY 20 years ago!
