Because states make Spanish its first language ( like new Mexico) and some schools make it mandatory to teach Spanish and English now. With our government doing this stuff, why bother making them speak English? But I personally think the same way, if you are going to be here, then speak our language damn it!! You want to know the funny thing is? In my town Taco Bell has all white people working there and KFC has all beaners. Talk about funny. And I'm sick and tired of every time I look in the paper under the help wanted section, all the jobs say "bilingual a plus" Bull sh!t It needs to say "Must speak English"
Because they already have demonstrated that they have absolutely no respect for the U.S. and our laws. They are not willing to sacrafice anything to come to this country and reap the benefits won by Americans who have blead, suffered, worked and otherwise paid with their lives to secure the blessings of Liberty for their children and all Americans.
But no. Many Mexican immigrants refuse to integrate and want to be separate but guaranteed all of the other rights that Americans have. THEY DON"T EVEN CONSIDER THEMSELVES AMERICANS!!
Their "culture" had a chance in Mexico and it failed miserably. Why else are they poor, starving, and running to live in the U.S.?

You are right! I found the same thing here in Europe, I don´t understand why the people immigrate and want the host country become like theirs? Why don´t they try at least to learn the language and work hard to pay themselves their expenses, instead of criticize everything?
I am Mexican and live in Switzerland, I learned German and French, but I find almost every week people who live here since 10 years and are not able to speak the official languages, as consequence they don´t find a job and then they want to be supported by the government!
I think that is not a nationality, it is the stupid education which receive some people...
Pretty sure a lot of the "illegal immigrants" I know do try to learn English. How else would they be able to get a job? Some employers will not hire you if you do not speak English. As for the comment of them being too stupid to learn. Please...you should have seen the "Americans" in my Spanish and French class. I would like to see the moron who said that try to learn a new language and see how difficult it really is. But of course, they are too ignorant for that.
