Can you immigrate from the UK to the US if you have outstanding debts in the UK?
Answer:
I too am from the UK, and currently in the process of my I-130, and I have left a sum of debt back in the UK. It is to my understanding that debt outside the states will not affect the application. You may find in a number of years that the debt follows you, but by law it does not mean you have to pay it here in the states, unless the debt sells it to a debt collector here in the states. Hope this helps. Don't let a silly thing like debt stop you from starting a new life in such a great country. As long as you keep away from debt here, you should be fine.
i suppose you are an American citizen
so u tell him to come to US and marry you and get a good lawyer and file for a greencard
thats the best possible way for him to live in the US permanantly
I doubt that has anything to do with it. For the US they will care more that he has a reason to be here ie work or marriage etc. He should pay the loans off while here though. I mean it's only fair to the banks etc.
