Why do you think Bush used this word in Mexico?

MIGRATION ? To describe the movement of illegal aliens into the USA?

Migration ..describes the movement of a population within its "own country", not to another country.

Just one more of his "Bushism mis-speaks"or a another reason perhaps ?
What do you think his intent was by his use of the word migration ?

Answer:
terrific question...no I think it was intentional....I think it was used as a "softening technique" to describe immigration...... MIGRATION sounds more "natural" like it is supposed to happen ..e.g..birds migrate south....sounds more natural therefore more acceptable...
very purposeful....I like President Bush but on this issue I could not disagree with him more
No this was intentional....they are doing whatever they can to twist and turn this around and make it out to be anything other than what it is...

Now it's "migration" wtf is next? My dad and I were talking about this over the weekend...wow is all we could say...and a few choice words :)
I think his intent is obvious. A big fat smoke screen. The term he should have used was "Invasion" Great question.
Well, Glenn Beck had an explanation involving oil for amnesty, but you will have to judge for yourself. This video is kind of funny.

He was thinking of Alberto Gonzales returning to his homeland to hide after his upcoming resignation and then MIGRATING around the country to find safe houses for Rove and Meirs.
At least that's what I hope he meant.
This is the currently accepted languaging now. "Immigration" has become a hotbed of anger because of the issues caused by the flood of illegals. So, now we're going to change the name a bit, soften it and make it easier to swallow.

"Over the last 40 years, immigration into the United States has surged. Our nation is now experiencing a second “great migration” similar to the great waves of immigrants that transformed America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries."

Migration can be within one country or it can be anywhere on the planet. Otherwise, all the geese would have to stay in Canada. : )
Maybe he called it "migration" meaning that they are moving around within the same continent. Bush has a few screws loose anyway.
As the Native Americans might have said ,"Bush speaks with forked tongue"!!!

He is trying to sugar-coat the FACT that these ILLEGALS are nothing but CRIMINALS in THIS country!!!

Why do you think they came up with the p.c. term "undocumented workers"???
Because it SOUNDS BETTER than saying they are ILLEGAL alien CRIMINALS!!!
Just one more time, this shows that Bush will do anything or say anything to make Mexico happy. Sickening, isn't it. ?
Bush is a MORON, well known for his poor language skills. Bush also has his lips firmly planted on the Mexican government's collective posterior.
Bush is correct, migration the movement of a people within its own country, yes! Mexico and the United States are nOT separated by land or sea! The North territory of these two names of countries are joined by Nature as one! Go look at a map tell me where is the separation ? The separation is in culture, language and race, and also in minds! Think about it!Sayonara.
According to all my sources, migration means the movement of people, animals, or other beings from one place to another. This is not limited to one country or even continent.

The movement of populations in modern times has continued under the form of both voluntary migration within one's region, country, or beyond, and involuntary migration (which includes slave trade, Trafficking in human beings and ethnic cleansing). The people who migrate are called migrants, or, more specifically, emigrants, immigrants or settlers, depending on historical setting, circumstance and perspective.
