Can I get a work permit or green card if my son was born in the US?
Answer:
Dont listen to these high school kids...they dont know anything about real life unlike they hear it from Paris Hilton or American Idol...maybe even Sesame Street but ANYWAY...Your child is a US citizen...if he acquired a social security card from birth and a birth certificate, then he is a US citizen...You should be able to apply for a work permit because my sister's husband did and things turned out fine. Good luck with everything and I cant wait for you to become a citizen of our country.
No.
No. When he turns 21 he can petition for you.
No, there is no such a thing as a green card for the mother of the citizen or a work permit for the mother of the citizen. Work permits are acquired through an employer, green cards - through marriage, family immigration, business immigration and so on. When he is 21 he can sponsor you to come there as a family member - family immigration.
none7 hit the nail on the head. Answer is a resounding NO. You cannot do anything because your son was born here, except be his mother.
I know of a number of people who are similarly situated as you. In fact, some of them have 3 to 4 kids who were born here in the United States. Unfortunately, the parents of these American citizens are still illegals and will remain so until they are petitioned by their kids when they become of legal age. Until then, they should hide from the INS.
no. he is going to stay. but you must go back.
Why don't you apply for a green card?
