As a Nigerian lawyer, how can I be eligible to practice law in the United States of America?
Answer:
By sending me 5000 dollars via western union.
I would imagine you would have to take the Bar exam for the state in which you want to practice. Before you can take the Bar, though, you have to prove to them you have the pre-requiste education behind you.
I suggest you contact the ABA and ask them what they require. If I knew which state you were wanting to practice in, I would give you that state's Bar address but not knowing that, your best bet is to contact the ABA themself.
You have to go to law school here.
I think you just have to sit for the bar in the state in which you want to practice. It costs more, I believe. Incidentally, I think you need to have a LLM. So, maybe you might have to graduate from an ABA law school with an LLM in order to sit on the bar. Is Nigeria a common law country?
America has too many lawyers now. They share the same reputation that prostitutes have.
