The only time dems support bush is on amnesty!?
at least be consistent... if youre going to bash bush over anything he does, consistently do so.. dont support the idea he has that the majority of americans dont support... this is why we need to elect independents. gets these fools out of office.
phil morrow 2008!
Answer:
Apparently the congress is just as out of touch with the US public as the president is. In fact congress just scored a 14% approval rating, ouch!!! I do agree, we should vote out everyone who has been in congress for longer than 2 two terms. No reason to have a bunch of old farts telling the Gen X'ers what there business is when they haven't a clue.
When was the last time the then Republican Majority supported Dems?

Add Jeb Bush as Vice President or Rick Perry!
They both have corrupt motives. The Republican business types like the fact that wet backs are dumb enough to work for slave wages. The Democrats know that wet backs will vote for Democrats because they believe in giving wet backs money from U.S. taxpayers.
Absolutely not. I don't even support that. And Nancy Pelosi needs to get off her high horse and throw away the second biggest flip flops in the world. (First biggest belonging to the proud owner of John Kerry)
Seriously contemplating voting independant. Both Dems and Repubs are awful.
its the only good thing hes done since hes been in office...i cant believe he took his mind of war long enough to do anything productive.
there already here, better they work legally, pay taxes..and are offically on record in the us so they are accounted for.
Are you a republican or a Bush Lover? Or perhaps you are just a democrat hater. I say we need some independents in office to keep things interesting. To do that though, this country needs to get over it's third party candidates ruin elections...it pisses me off when I hear someone say that I have "wasted" my vote. That is the beauty of a vote...it is mine to do what I want with. The only wasted voted, is the one not cast.
That is exactly why I'm Independent! I'm tried of two party politics! i encourage everyone to register Independent the next time you update your voters registration. If anything you ll no longer be following the herd of republicans and democrats. I vote for candidates on issues not parties.
I am just gonna climb up on my soapbox here and say something about immigration for all you uppity beaners out there..most people have no problem with someone living in the United States, legally..and that is the key word. If you are here legally, then shut the hell up and enjoy the fact that you dont have to pick tomatoes all day for pennies an hour! As far as amnesty goes, I heard Neil Bortz on the radio and he said: If you go in your basement and you have a busted water pipe, you dont try to clean up the water and then stop the leak, you stop the source of the problem and then clean up the mess"...I think that it is high time that someone from Alabama gets in the White House.we may be ignorant by most people standards, but I swear I have more common sense than most people that I come into contact with!
The Dems support the evil monkey on this issue because it is obviously to their advantage to have millions of potential new Democrats. About 90% of immigrants vote Democrat. Overseas, everybody thinks the Democratic Party is great, and when they come here, that carries over until they either (a) become middle class or (b) figure out what America is actually like, not what they thought it was from viewing it through the prism of foreign news organizations. then they may switch to the Republicans.
I'm a bit left of "Democrat", but I'm liberal, so I guess I'm qualified to answer.
I completely disagree with Bush's support of this bill, and any liberal or Democrat with half a brain should too. The illegals are being presented with possible amnesty for ONE reason---because Big Business wants them here as a sort of permanent underpaid working class. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this bodes ill for the American workforce, including organized labor.
The corporate whores who run this country are trying to tear down everything that the unions have accomplished for the American worker, whether you actually belong to a union or not. And that includes giving illegals access to jobs that Americans supposedly "won't do". Well, pay Americans a decent wage; and we'll do ANYthing.
BOYCOTT HILLARY 08 !
It is obvious from your rhetoric that you are not looking for a reasoned argument, but for opinions that reinforce your prejudice.
This is apparent from your first statement where you say that the only time ever that the Democrats support Bush is on a bill that gives criminals amnesty (with a '!' to show that you heartily disagree with this situation).
The only reason undocumented aliens are criminals is that we have a failed immigration policy that defines them as such. We have the means to change the law and make them something else.
We live in a Democracy where it is not unusual for laws to pass because of prejudices held by large segments of the population. The internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII is one example. Jim Crow laws in the South and CC&Rs that kept minorities from living among whites in the North are two more.
We saw the unfairness in those laws and did the right thing, making reparations to the Internies and striking down Jim Crow laws and unfair housing practices.
You say "if youre going to bash bush over anything he does, consistently do so."
Why? Is it illegal or unethical to deal with a proposal on its merits rather than based merely on the source?
I would like to know where you get the idea that fair treatment of immigrants is an "idea he has that the majority of americans dont support." You get different results in polls depending on how the questions are worded. If you ask, "should illegal immigrants get amnesty?" then of course you'll get people disagreeing with that.
You say "These illegals wont be able to vote."
If they are illegal, yes. That's the point of the reform -- to create a path toward citizenship so that they can. Does that scare you? Are you afraid that all these 'foreigners' are going to vote something into law you don't like? What is it?
As for your claim that "they will drive down wages . . . create a premenent (sic) underclass," where did this cockamamie idea come from? If they change from illegal to legal citizens, they will have the benefit of all the same laws that protect workers now, and their working conditions and wages would improve, not get worse. Employers could no longer intimidate them with threats of deportation if they report abuses.
As legal citizens making better wages, they would pay more taxes, not less, reducing the tax burden of the rest of us, not raising it.
The true definition of a 'liberal' is one who judges a proposed solution on it's merits, rather than on the labels people put on it. Don't make it a swear word.
