What do you think about the measures of the current administration toward illegal immigration???
1. It's not fair for this nation, as a sovereign country the US has the right of choosing who enters to its domains and who doesnt
2. The immigrant puts himself in danger during the action
3. Illegal immigration causes disestablization in the country..
Still, many of those immigrants have been here for many years, they have family, children who are already US citizens and who could be separated either from their parents or from their birth place if their parents are deported...
dont you think there's a better way to solve this issue?? for those who are already here to stay and be allowed to legalize their situation if they meet certain requirements??
If you have it, GIVE ME ANOTHER IDEA OF HOW THE PROBLEM COULD BE SOLVED.

If we MUST let some stay then the only fair way to do it is:
Set up a Program to go from Illegal to Citizen with the following parameters:
1.) Show eligibility to become a legal resident.
2.) Pay a Fine to be determined by the amount of time you have been in this country Illegally, to off set the Taxes you have not paid over the years.
3.) You MUST work (& pay taxes), and you would not be eligable for ANY state or federal benifits untill AFTER your citizenship was approved.
or
3a.) Serve 4 years in the armed forces. (if Eligable or at the governments discretion)
4.) Only Illegals in the counrty prior to a set date would be eligable.
5.) 1 Felony conviction or 3 Misdemenor convictions while in the program would lead to instant deportation, no appeals.
(having 1 felony or 3 misdemenor convictions prior to entry in the program would disqualify one from the program)
Anyone caught in the country illegally after the start of the program or not eligable would be deported after a hearing, time from arrest to deportation not to exceed 1 week.
I find it hard to feel bad for someone being seperated from their family when they knew that was the risk they were taking when they broke the law, you wouldn't feel bad if someone was seperated from their family because they were guilty of a serious crime and had to go to jail.

i think it's rediculous. we pay for them to go to the hospital for free, and they leech off tax paying citizens. the whole thing is bs. my friend rides quads out in california, he said they WAVE to boarder patrol as they ride into mexico-and they wave right back. that goes to show just how tight our boarders are, it's a joke.
The problem could be solved in other country's, if they didn't have to wait so long in their country's for an apportionment to get a work visa they wouldt come up here illegally! In Mexico and Guatemala you have to own your house or some kind of property to even be eligible to get a work visa! People wait years! Its BS!
I think all countries around the world should shut their borders to Americans and see how we like it. Mexico lets us go over there with nothing more than a passport. I don't see why we can't let Mexicans come over here it's all so stupid all most of them want to do is work, we should be flattered they would rather call America home than their own homeland.
I don't think we should have a say of who can come here because if u remeber we stole this land from the indians so if that's the case then we are illegal too. so I say make them pay taxes and let them stay. Or let the original land owners have it back.
There are too many to get rid of. We should grant them non-voting permanent status. That way they can stay but NOT become a political voting force encouraging even more illegal immigration. We should also crack down big time on employers of illegals. Send them to prison to discourage coming here for jobs. It would be nice to ban bilingual school instruction too but that won't happen... too many bleeding hearts.
I have no qualms about letting the illegals self deport themselves. The they made the decision to sneak across the border, that was their choice,and how it effects their family is their problem, not mine. Why was it okay to leave their families behind when the crossed to come, but now it a boo, boo, get real it's not about their families, it's about their wanting to have it all and wanting us the tax payer to pay for it
The current administration has turned a blind eye to it. I don't have an answer, but my Grandparents had to follow the laws when they sailed over here. If they wouldn't have been healthy, they would have been sent back to the old country. They also had to have a sponsor or relative who would provide for them until they got settled here. There was no Medicaid, Food Stamps and other free benefits.
I don't have an answer and I feel sorry for them because they don't have opportunities to have even a minimally decent life in their home country. They are not taking work away from the citizens. They work hard and do stuff a lot of us wouldn't think of doing. When I see the guys shopping, legal or otherwise, I don't know, they are always neat and clean and polite and smile and they are buying nutritious food that they are cooking themselves not all this processed crap we've been sucked into eating. But they violated our laws.
This Republican strategy falls perfectly into place with their 8+ year strategy of denying minorities their voting rights...ChoicePoint etc.
That's all they've got.they want to have a chance during an election cycle they whip their christian hate-monger base into a frenzy about

Well, as far as I know we're all immigrants here, the only locals are the Native Americans. People immigrate for a better opportunity and most of them work and stay out trouble. I believe whoever contributes to the US, has been here for a very long time should be allowed to register without fear and be allowed to pay taxes. A work permit granted or something like it. Think about it, if it wasn't for these hard working people getting paid peanuts, the US customers would have to pay even higher prices for things.
I'm going to say how I feel.
I'm not against all illegal immigrants who ran away from a place to make a better life for their children.
I'm not against illegal immigrants that want to be American citizens.
I am against this:
1. People who come here, murder and run to the border and come back.
2. Employers turning down citizens for jobs
3. Welfare offices turning down citizens in a time of need
4. Mob mentality. Thinking because they can group up in a mob that they should have it their way.
5. People who use fake documents and the IRS that does nothing to track down those using fake SSN's. Some of those fake numbers belong to babies.
6. Hospitals that hire illegal immigrants because that puts citizens at a risk for SSN fraud. How else are infants just being born having their SSN stolen?
7. People that openly spout out racist slurs against white and black people but then call someone else a racist or sue for discrimination
Basically, expecting everything for nothing.
Now if someone who is a respectful illegal immigrant really would rather be a U.S citizen and aren't going out of their way to hurt others or fail to understand the laws I say we do it the old fashioned way.
Have those take American history courses, learn english, apply for citizenship and prove they are here to become American citizens and aren't just here to get a free ride.
The ones who think America should be Mexico and they don't have to obey our laws can go back to Mexico. Illegal immigrants that feel this way were taught this in their textbooks at school in Mexico. Mexico has also been trying to push those textbooks on hispanic students in the U.S I guess to further promote their propoganda against America.

in a perfect world. we'd legalize the ones here. get it done and over with already. and then super strengthen the borders, of course before we announce that the illegals already in the u.s can become legal we will strengthen the borders so that we don't get a surge of illegals trying to get her in time for the legalization. and only after a background check in America and Mexico, and then taking a series of test to become a citizen can the ones already living here become legal citizens. and then that's that. no more illegal migrating due to lack of border patrol.

Illegal immigrants stress our hospitals,schools, welfare systems,court systems, prison systems and jeapodize the safety of the American people,and cause the price of gasoline to inflate. It does not matter where they are from if they are here illegally they are stressing our already fragil system. This is not the 1700s or even the 1800's, This is today's America. Our government for 50 years has not protected the borders.I don't look for there to be any honest changes in that fact. I am all for people coming to the US legally. It is real simple, we have to quit feeding them, quit working them, quit giving them health care, quit giving babies born to illegal immigrants automatic citizenship, quit giving them schooling and quit allowing them to access our borders. We are setting our families and friends up for a world of hurt if we help people stay here illegally. When people (any people) violate our borders we do not know if they are criminals, terrorists, gansters or just plain poor people looking for a better life. All illegal immigants should be sent back to their home country and their babies should go with them. When the child turns 18 they should be allowed back into this country (and allow them to bring their parents who can apply for citizenship)and be on a probation system for 10 years..if they get into trouble their citizenship should be revoked and they will be sent back. Within a few weeks of all the illegals going home our schools, healthcare, gasoline, welfare will all go back to normal. It is funny how we work so hard to make a country we can enjoy and feel secure in and every other country (or people) just wants to take it or have a little piece of the pie that someone else worked for.doesn't that sound human? Send them all home and close the doors! Before any one hits on me for being predjudice, I have got to say I have meet some really hard working wonderful people who were here in the US illegally..but they broke the law..If I broke the law they would put me under the jail house. For people who are living in states that are full of illegal people they are feeling the stress full force. It is easy for a state or people that only have handfuls of illegals to justify letting them stay...go visit those states..stay awhile...take your shoes off. You won't enjoy your stay long if your kids have to attend a stressed school system, you can't get in a ER room and gas is $3.50 and no one speaks English and the big dent in your car was put there by a driver with no insurance and no drivers license. Make sure you buy a house with a guard dog and big fence because the drug runners will use your yard, house, car or what ever else they can find to do their illegal trade. People who are not living in the result of ilegal immigration should not throw stones at those that do...they should be trying to help by cutting off the benefits that bring the illegals here.
