Can I get a dual citizenship with spain?
So do you think it could be possible?
Answer:
I believe you're Australian so you wouldn't have a trouble with dual on our end (I presume you'd like to keep the Australian).. it's the Spanish that you'll have to look into. I would say from a quick glance that you don't qualify for Spanish citizenship through relatives mainly because the links are too far apart (you're going through your grandparents or further back on your mother's side; usually you just get it through your parents and sometimes you can get it through your grandparents if you prove a strong enough link). But in any case if you were able to get it, you'd be looking at your birth certificate, your parent's marriage certificate, your mother's and grandparent's birth certificates, any proof of change of names, citizenship and naturalization of relatives. <--- see the mess in paperwork and we won't even start on forms.
Check with the Spanish embassy for details.
I think you'd have a lot less headaches getting Fhilipino if you want dual...
If your an American and once you hit 18, you can only have one citizenship,,the U.S. does not recoginze dual citizenship after your 18,,,,
