Why do poor Latin countries think national pride education is so important?
the problem is the pride doesn't stop there,,,it starts to become racial and hateful to other countries and ethnicites,,,,namely the US and white folk,,they will put more importance in hating these people even if it means skewing history to thier liking,,which they do,,,If you are a third world country,,shouldn't you concentrate on reular education,,and not political BS to schoolchildren

Whether you like it or not, the Latin American education system is 100% better than the one in the USA.While we're on the subject of propaganda how come the USA sugarcoats slavery and what was done to the Native-Americans ? How come they describe the Moor and Jewish occupation of Spain negatively ? We as Americans would be better off if we had more national pride,don't you think ? I guess you want a medal then.And if the education is against "white folks" how come the ruling class in Latin America is guess what ? WHITE !
We have some of that ourselves. We teach our kids national pride, as well - and I think everyone should be proud of their country.

i think you are a bit confused -- nobody teaches national pride like the united states. everyone runs around saying junk like "usa #1" and what are we #1 in? last i checked our education system is way down in the low 20s -- so is our healthcare. usa #28 is much more appropriate.
mexicans are taught an accurate view of history. the united states took their land by force and then mexico was forced to sign a treaty. mexicans don't say the south west was stolen. they say it was taken by force -- and that is true.
people in the united states mess up their history right and left -- how do you think we got the south-west -- had tea and biscuits and the mexicans just said "take my land, please?"

Come on, worm, I don't care what you think. The Peruvian census says that 10% of Peruvians are white, and they thought Peruvians to hate white? LOL, stupid yankee/ worm.
Because it is important to the country's government that citizens of a country feel connected to that country so they will help it to prosper and feel a duty to defend it if attacked. It also helps to continue the culture of the people.
As you stated, you even see it in countries like Mexico where people risk there lives getting out but then wave Mexican flags in protest marches. You really can't be too harsh on illegal Mexicans disregarding US laws. After all, most Mexicans will readily admit the Mexican government is corrupt, you have to bribe any official to get anything done, most cops are actually working for drug lords and the government encourages poor citizens to leave. If Mexicans don't respect Mexican laws, why should they respect laws of a country they are in illegally?
