why not allow the people who own land on the border to police they're own land. they have a right as private property owners to keep unwanted undocumented immigrants from tresspassing. i would love to have the chance to watch over the border for 24 hrs as thanks to being an american citizen protecting my country while our soilders are off doing they're job.

I don't think we would need to if they would just let the border agents do the job. Militarizing it would just limit good citizens liberty just a little bit more.
The fact is that the elitists want tons of unskilled ,low wage workers to pay for all the screw ups by government to the social security program. The United States Constitution requires our government to do what it has to protect the American Citizens from harm from foreign invaders. The U.S. government should secure our borders with our Military with all powers to use force if necessary to enforce our current laws. If our currents laws were enforced and a concret wall we would have less problems with illegal aliens invading the U.S.

Yes, I said just that for the last year. Have the military work the borders, and the border partol work the ports of entry. The military would put up with no BS, the illegals who did try to cross would be give 2 options, halt and give up, or be shot, no ifs, ands, or buts.
Temporarily while we get more agents on the border and properly trained. I don't want to make it a all the time thing. We would do better by punishing employers who hire them with heavy fines and/or jail time. And by cutting out all the nice benefits of being an illegal.
