Depends on my motives for travel. Cancun for doing nothing but laying around doing nothing but relaxing. Africa for sightseeing and learning with a very busy agenda.
I have been to Cancun and it was gorgeous....the ruins, the incredible blue water, etc. so this time I would say Africa, at least South Africa and Capetown where I have friends.

I've been to Hawaii, San Francisco Ca, San Diego Ca, Florida and almost all the beaches in Mexico, but, Cancun!!!! well that place stole my heart!!! especially Playa del Carmen (40-45-minutes away from Cancun) if I were to choose from white sandy beaches and a safari in Africa, well, I will consider what you are planing and will also consider the expenses, visiting Cancun could cost you less than 50% than Africa, if someone is giving you a free trip I will definitely consider Cancun, good luck and enjoy Cancun!!!!.

Mexico is the best country in the world. Anyone who goes to Africa will get eaten by lions and they will wish they were in Cancun.
None of the above. We need to visit all the good things we have here in the good old USA. We need to spend our money here and support our country first.
Well I would say Cancun, and for that Bullhead that said that just drink, drugs and prostitutes, well that means that he's a junkie and his opinion is worthless. Cancun is in Quintana Roo state, and have the most beautiful and striking beaches on Earth, have the Mayans ruins near of the Caribbean sea with the most spectacular view. Have so many places there to go and to have fun also. Now if you want to go to Africa, as one of the people here that said, everything depends what part of the continent are you talking about. Kenya is good for its safaris. Egypt the wonderful pyramids but you have to be careful of those crazy men that hate westerners the same happens in Africa which now is infected with the Muslims radicals who kills and kidnap everything that smells or sounds western. Those countries to avoid is Sudan, Nigeria, Somalia and so on. That part of the world is fracture with wars based in religion or ethnicity. Check first at the State Department and choose the best for you and of course "safety first" and have a nice trip and good luck.
