I have applied for my Passport and have not received it for 3 months and am leaving in two weeks?
Answer:
Do not bet on leaving in two weeks. Call the passport office you mailed the application to and ask some pointed questions. Call your Representative also.
Go to the place you ordered it and find out if it's not too late to pay to expedite it.
There is a huge delay in passports. You need to get to the Post Office or something yesterday and see if you can expedite it. They have been losing them right and left because they are getting so many apps. I did mine before the new laws went into effect. It took about 5 weeks with out expedition to get mine. Act now. Don't wait another day.
There is a backlog with passport applications. You may need to wait and it depends where you are going. They passed a new "law" in June.

Seriously, mine took three months, and that was because they thought I was a terrorist (in 1998) Call someone about it, if theyhave not called you about it, like another person said, yesterday...
If it is to Mexico or Canada, there is some new news. http://www.king5.com/topstories/stories/...
I'm in the exact same situation-- I also applied for my passport more 12 weeks ago and still have not recieved it, and have plans to travel in less than 2 weeks now. There's not much you can do except hope it will come-- I've tried calling the National Passport Information Office for two days straight and their phone lines are completely jammed-- have not gotten through once. I would have applied to have it expedited, but there was no need at the time I applied to do so, since the estimated wait was 10-12 weeks and that was enough time.
Good luck to you.
