When did doing something illegal become acceptable in this country?

i just don't understand people who support amnesty for illegal aliens. They are here illegally and breaking the law. Why should they not be punished? If a usa citizen broke a law, do you think we could get out of it?? for example, lets say im late for work and get a speading ticket. I tell the officer well, im a good person trying to pay my bills, so i don't feel i deserve to be punished.. what do you think would happen? I would still get the ticket. Heck, look at all of the people in prison right now. You could say most of them are good people who just made a mistake.. should they all be let out and not suffer the consequences for their actions?? heck no!! i just don't seem to get the way people think.

If you are puzzled, read the following piece, click on the link, and then watch the video. It is all explained below.

This is a long running and deliberate plan to benefit corporate America, supported by congress and the White House, especially the Bush administration!

we whould, but there are just too many to keep track of, considering that we have no idea who most of them are.
you need to learn english and spanish
It happened when our politicians learned they might be able to gain something from the situation.

The dems want votes from the illegals. They feel that since the majority are uneducated and low-income they will love all the new social programs.

The repubs want to keep getting all of the money from big business. Big business loves the fact that the illegals drive down almost every working stiffs wages, especially the poor.
WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. WHEN DID GOD SAY THIS LAND WAS FOR ONLY AMERICANS!! WE ILLEGALS ARE NOT CRIMINALS!!!

PROUD TO BE MEXICAN!!!!
YES TO AMNESTY!!!
No amnesty, round em up!
Well, there was a time that booze was illegal, but it was considered acceptable. Then there was prostitution that has been illegal (except in Nevada) for a long time, but it was acceptable in some communities. Illegals is another issue. Until employeers and politicians quit looking the other way, it will be a problem and when we vote against any one that voted for the amnesty, then it will no longer be acceptable.
HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA... WAIT.

JAJAJAJAJAAAAAAAAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ...

ok, because many Americans do illegal things and don't get punished.

THIS IS NOT AMNESTY! Do you know the difference...no, oh ok, I forgive you. Well it's actuallly immigration reform.

Have Mexicans not been punished enough. Read the history. If you were illegally deported what would you do, even if you were here as a natural born citizen!

You can not compare illegal immigration to the thieves, rapists and murderers in our prisons.
The ghettos in our country are palaces compared to ghettos in places like India, Mexico and Colombia. We have so many opportunities here that most of us don't even take advantage of. People who come in to this country illegally are not criminals. They are opportunists. These people say "I will do everything in my power to enrich my families life." Immigrating to this country legally is not an easy thing. A whole life time can go by before the opportunity arises. And if you are Cuban you can forget about it. Lucky for them they have that rule that if they touch the soil they can stay. Political refugees. Sounds nice right, but we send our coast guard out to try and stop them from being able to get close enough to get there feet on the soil. They spray them with hoses and all kinds of ridiculous things.
And just one more thing, where in the heck do you think we got the western United States? We went over there and took it form the Mexicans! And if Mexico had a law against people taking there land, would we have obeyed?
I understand your position but to clarify for you I will state the following. Not all laws are just laws. Obviously slavery was not a just law during its time. A slave escaping fom a slavemaster could be punished under United States law as a criminal. Although escaping from the injustice of slavery cannot be considered a violation of human law and moral code, it was a violation of the laws on the books.

We face the same dilemma today. Although not as extreme as slavery, current immigration law is viewed as unjust and in need of change. The forefathers genius is evident in the creation of an amendment system which allows us to make relevant changes so that we are not forever handcuffed by archaic laws that may have been beneficial at one time but are no longer relevant.

So while I do share your values, I am also of the opinion that not all current laws are just. Most are fine the way they are written, but some, through the proper exercise of the judicial process, should be updated or reformed.
Well why do some violate Y/A by trolling with multple I D's?Because that rule isn't for them they think.People get away with it, tho soon it will be harder with the new software program. That's why Yahoo changed tactics just as the immigration laws we need to change tactics. No one is saying illegal immigration is ok.I don't know where people get that idea in their head.We just think the laws need revisiting.Simple
first of all, you should read more about this issue before talking about it. nobody is talking about amnesty. look up for the definition if you don not know the meaning.

second, talking about what is legal and who is breaking the law and if thay have to face the consequences of their actions.

could you tell me since when killing and mutilating Innocent people, destroying cities, sticking your nose in other countries business is legal???

why countries that belong to the United Nations must abide by their rules but the united states don't?

killing native Americans to take their land was legal?

for god's sake, you must understand that this country is not yours, you are the immigrants here, not us.
I don;t know where you were born. but being born in the U.S. does not make you American, check your background, is not the place you are born that matters is where are you coming from.
think about it, criticize yourself before criticizing others.
Those who challenge unjust laws, have a higher regard for the "law", than those who blindly follow.

There was a time in this country when:

It was "illegal" for women to vote in this country. It was "illegal" for a black man to be free in this country. It was "illegal" for children of black and white colors to go to the same schools in this country.

But everyone followed the law, because it was just, the law. Many people FOUGHT hard to keep these laws on the books, but a few voices, cried for equality and won.You lack humanity and vision, stop thinking with tunnel vision.
We have been putting up with illegal behavior since the Clinton Clan was in the White House.

To Trailerparkbob - While I do not agree with everything Bush does, HE WAS ELECTED, get over it. Your name says it all.

To Senorita Glitter : Give me your address and your employers address and lets see if what your doing isn't illegal. If not GO HOME.

To Rosa : While this may not be amnesty by the true definition, it is forgiving the crime you have committed by jumping the fence.
Well let me ask you something. Lets say you weren't driving and the driver AND you, BOTH got the speeding ticket, is that fair?? yea i don't think so, you see there's people here in the US that didn't have a choice in breaking the law. Their parents brought them here when they were infants...
The issue of immigration has shades of Grey, but all you bigots seem to be color blind. . .
I know how you feel fella its the same here in the UK recently an ethiopian illegal immigrant was let off a rape charge in court because he was deaf and dumb and they didnt think he would understand the court proceedings, and he was given indefinite leave to stay in the UK as well, adding a boot in the back to the victim who was doubtless already down, and we also have s**t loads of africans who seem to think that they should get everything for free but the laws of this land dont apply to them
You need to revise your definition of criminal intent. Illegal immigrants have an intent to support their families or seek a better life, not to commit a crime.

Now, if a crime (real one) is commited, all should be punished equally, regardless of status.

The proposed bill does punish via fines and requirements.
That is a good question, I would ask the parents of Paris Hilton.
I agree with you. If I broke the law, I wouldn't just get away with it. The part most people don't understand is that they are ILLEGAL.
