Shy didn't president bush have to have the required hearings re: immigration bill?

this bill was drawn up behind closed doors, with sen. kennedy and sen. mccain...and others...so why all the secrecy? just typical of bush's administration.i notice there wasn't a lot of talk about him signing the SPP agreement either

Answer:
And note that pages 210 to 211 of the bill have a 'sense of congress that the spp should be accelerated' to try to cure the unconstitutionality of that little maneuver.

Why didn't they want hearings?

Because it is a bill that can't stand the light of day.
Bush had nothing to do with the WAY this was conducted. The Democratic Congress changed their own rules to run this charade without going through Committee. More dishonesty! Instead of blaming Bush for everything why not spend more time informing yourself on facts?
He hasn't signed anything yet, in fact they haven't even voted on it yet.
It was done behind closed doors, because they knew once it was made public, the sh*t would hit the fan
