Should I put that I'm divorcing in a US citizenship application?
Answer:
You must tell the truth, and the truth is you are still married, Do not volunteer information not asked for, if in doubt consult an immigration Lawyer. Try to keep a line of communication open with your spouse, even if it means swallowing your pride.
Put all information the form ask. If you need information from your ex, approach her calmly and peacefully. Tell her you really need her help...I'm sure if you ask the right way, she will aid you.
If you're applying for Citizenship them that means you already have your permanent residency right? As long as you don't have a provisional permanent resident card you should be OK telling them the truth. I would ask the lawyer that is filing for you because with the government there is NO turning back so just make sure so you don't get in trouble. Good luck :)
If your divorce is not final yet then you are still married, if you said you are divorced is going to ask you for the date of when the divorce was final and you don't have that yet.
Honor before valor, if you qualify for U.S. citizenship without being married then be HONEST.
Well put that you are still married because the divorce can take many months before going through. Normally a divorce is 6 months if all goes well but can last much longer than that. Since you are applying for citizenship that means you have permanent residency so you should be ok.
