Why people thinks that everybody who doesn't speak English is illegal ?

The citizenship test is in English, but most Americans don't realize how many exceptions the government makes for foreign family members, etc. We've been sold down the river by our politicians who couldn't care less about the breakdown of civil society since they don't live in the real world anyway. It's the rest of us who have to make due with the parasites in our midst.
Make everyone be documented like all citizens are. What is so bad about that?
But no, we have to give in to what they want because they came here and demanded.
I for one, have never met a legal citizen who did not speak english.

This is because they are ignorant and uneducated. They are the same who think, that all latin/hispanic or Spanish speaking are Mexican.
I hate this, the same people that say..."i don't speak Mexican". Would I ever say, " I don't speak Ireland, America...". Um... no!

to live and function in this country, people should either know or put forth the effort to learn english. Why should we have to bend over backwards for others. go to any other country, and they speak their own language.. So i really don't care if a person is legal or illegal in this aspect. to live here means you should know english. Im not saying loose your other language, but you should know english
All I know is anyone who is North of Mexico and doesn't speak English, should.
I have a Chinese co-worker, who is now a US citizen and can hardly speak any English. It is a challenge just talking to her.

I agree with Cheerful Hamster. My husband of 35 years was foreign born. He worked very hard to speak proper English.He was so embaressed before his English was good. He even waited over 10 years to apply for US citizenship (a legal green card holder married to an American).because he thought is language skills weren't good enough to call himself American.He is the kind of foreign born person we need in the US. Total loyalty to the ne w country and it's people.I quess they just don't make them like that anymore..
