Why is the u,s making a big deal about sending immigrants back to Mexico?

It's a complicated question. Currently illegal aliens (primarily from Mexico) do a lot of jobs in food service & sanitation that most Americans simply won't do, and they do them very well.
America, by creating welfare, food stamps & disability and allowing their sigificant abuse, has created a society where many people choose to not work rather than take lower level physically hard jobs. In the 40's & 50's, Americans were proud to do those jobs, but not anymore, although I am generalizing here.
This has created significant need, which illegal aliens happily fill, and if you have ever eaten in a restaurant or walked through a clean department store you have probably benefitted from this.
That being said, it is wrong for anyone to come to this country, benefit from our services and not give back in return, in the form on income taxes. Taxes help pay for the benefits we all enjoy, and while no one likes paying them, it is wrong to reap the rewards of this country and not do your share.
Should illegal aliens be kicked out? Absolutely not; after all, unless you are Native American, at one time your family were immigrants here too.
There should however, be tighter restrictions and penalities for future illegal aliens, amnesty for those already here, and the immediate legalization of those being given amnesty with the understanding that as citizens or legal immigrants, taxes and following the rules of our country are non-negotiables.
Why restrictions on future illegals and/or increased border patrol? Because like any country, our resources are finite, and if everyone in the world came here because they didn't like their home, our country would become over-polluted, over-crowded and eventually un-liveable. It also gives people less incentive to work to make their country's standards & government better, a drive for which is ultimately what created the United States.
Mexicans typically are willing to work for a much much lower pay, thus taking many jobs from legal americans. Also, the mexicans try to come here illegally whereas japanese or other immigrants, in most cases, obtain a valid visa
No immigrant should be here illegally, regardless of their country of origin. We want to get rid of all ILLEGALS, no one is saying to just get rid of the illegal Mexicans while we keep the illegals from all the other countries.

If people come here and break our laws in our country, they should be put in jail and sent back, but instead we are rewarding them by allowing them to stay here, when they are not legal yet. They are not here to just work, they also abuse our welfare system etc..
If they would just come here 'legally', we wouldn't be having this problem. It is going to cost lots of American tax dollars to keep them here.

Did you confuse that will us sending illegal aliens back to Mexico? Every other country on the planet (Mexico included) send you to prison for illegally entering their country. If it were up to me i'd put everyone who entered the country into prison and the flag them so they would never be allowed an entry visa.
I had stated the same thing in one of my answers awhile back, and I got all thumbs down? I use to work in a family owned gas station, until some Iraqi came along and bought out the buildings I lost my job because they would not allow me to work for them. What's up with that? Back to your point, I don't understand that either. If people want to work, let them work. I would much rather have some one here trying to make something better life for themselves, than someone who we don't know there intentions. But that's just me.

We don't send IMMIGRANTS back... we send ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS back. There is a difference.
It's important to accurately represent historical facts. During WWII, after Pearl Harbor, many Japanese were temporarily sent to internment camps. The question seems to suggest that Americans of Japanese heritage experienced no repercussions, which just isn't true. Also, while the politically correct cowards in government don't want to come right out and say it, people coming to America from countries with ties to terrorism receive more scrutiny than some others. I'll tell you where I'm coming from, because I'm not running for some lame political office. I think both of these measures make sense from a national security perspective in the context of proven, imminent threats.
The next point is that Mexicans are receiving particular scrutiny in political debate right now because of the sheer numbers. There are up to 10 million PLUS in this country right now, and more are coming every day. If you came home and saw your dog tearing up the couch in the living room while a fire was blazing in the kitchen, which one would you address first?
And the last point is that addressing the problems of border enforcement is NOT just about hispanic xenophobia. The Fort Dix six came across the border in Brownsville, TX, which of course is the same border that Mexicans are crossing. Addressing that problem takes care of both the terrorist threat and the Mexican illegal invasion.
Not just mexicans, illegal aliens. That is who we should send back.
Of course all those others were not sent back, if they were legal.

they are not causing the price of gas to go up, but they are causing the price of health care, social security, and other social programs to skyrocket. They are a main reason for the overcrowding in our schools and prisons, they are a main reason for the increase in crime, and quite honesty, they don't really care about this country's laws or values so they don't need to be here. Actually they are one of the reasons that gas is OVER $3 a gallon.
Many Americans try to use less gas by buying fuel efficient vehicles. But when millions of additional people come illegally to this country no matter how hard we try we will still use more gas. So big oil will cry "its just supply and demand and the US is using more oil so we will charge you more".
We also end up paying more in property taxes to support illegal school kids at $10,000+ per year per kid.
We pay more to heat and cool our homes.
We pay more for our medical services because you use our hospitals for free.
We pay more in local/state taxes to pay for the 20-25% of our prison population that are illegal aliens.
If you are a legal immigrant then this does not apply as long as our politicians don't increase the number of those coming in any higher then the million a year.
Well I beg to differ, the U.S. has sent many immigrants back, if anyone knows about the Repatriations Act of 1930 that was enacted by President Hoover. He sent back millions of Mexicans back, illegal, Natural born Citizen Mexican, and those who just looked mexican. So yes the U. S has sent many immigrants back... Mexicans as a matter a fact. Mexicans have been a scapegoat for the U.S. unfortunately. Look up the Repatriations act. Repatriations is a gentle word for choosing to return to your natural country of origin. This alone is a contradiction because 60% of the ones who were sent back were American Citizens of Mexican descent. That god I wasn't one of them because I would still be protesting. I'm a woman and hear me ROARRRRR! Mexican people are too gentle and submissive in their natural culture to fight back and that is why they are an easy scapegoat.
In my opinion and people realize this IS just my opinion based on history, and history does tend to repeat itself. I believe the government is keeping this minority class out because it is becoming such a large majority. Not just such a large majority but becoming an educated majority. There is an increasing rise of the next generation of more and more going to college, and NO statistics show the highest rate of people on welfare are "white people" not hispanics of African Americans. Look it up under department of social services or welfare department. Also, even illegal immigrants do pay taxes, pay into Medicare and social security so I don't see what the strain of money is. The goverment is not supporting them. They are paying into the state. Even if they are using someone else's social security there are two people using the same number meaning twice the amount being paid into social security, medicare, etc. The goverment knows this so what is the problem? As fo 1986, the REAL Amnesty of President Reagan changed the law in which undocumented people could no longer receive welfare. So lets not blame them for that! Let's look at the statistics!
The more people that are let in, eventually become documented, later are allowed to vote then will be given their god given rights. The long awaited rights of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. For those who can prove they are descendants of this, they can get land back. Also for those illegally repatriated, they may even get some apology for it. Justice may be done.

Mexicans just cause problems for the US. Go to Los Angeles and look at the schools. Look at the crime rates. Legal or not they are a menace. They steal, they deal drugs. Im Mexican-American and Im 100% against this bill. I have nothing against Mexican people who come to the US the LEGAL way, im all for the people who are willing to wait the looooooooooong process and pay the expensive fees. I know people who ARE poor and have done it the right way! Its not fair that if this bill passes all these undocumented people just get to cross over and get granted a free pass. When people have struggled to do it the right way!

similar situation here in the UK weve got people complaining about polish immigrants since poland joined the EU but very few people are mentioning the afghans and iraqis and somalis who forment terrorism and drain benefits and other social resources, whilst the poles work very hard (one of my old polish colleagues used to put in around 70 hours + a week) and pay into the system for a few years then go back to poland with the money theyve saved up while working here. And if you think youve got it bad with $3 a gallon of gas, over here its nearly $2 for a litre (yesterdays news said petrol / gasoline prices at most texaco garages are £1.02 a litre so thatll probably work out at around $10 a gallon!
