Mexicans do alot of the jobs we don't want. We don't want to work at McDonalds for 5.15, or do yard work. We like paying low prices for yard work, or eating off the dollar menu, but think about what would happen if we removed the desperate labor. American's can be really lazy. I don't' see many illegal aliens working in high positions.
Yes, they should pay a tax on there income, but come on, I'm not ready for the 5 dollar Menu when McDonalds has to pay it's workers a living wage.

I don't see teenagers working for 3.00 an hour picking lettuce.
I don't see many people lining up to clean hotel rooms.
I don't see anyone trying to make businesses more accountable for knowingly hiring illegals. Maybe if you started there, with companies trying to save money by breaking laws, then immigrants would take the steps to become legal.
This country was FOUNDED on immigration. YES, there is a problem right now that needs to be fixed, but the solution is not to ban all mexicans and cubans from coming over.
If you're worried about your taxpayer money paying for their education, you should be far more worried about your taxpayer money being used on the 5 trillion dollar debt that this war is sinking us into. Your grandchildren's children are going to be paying that debt for us.
Get the hell over yourselves and look at the big picture.
But WE pay for their education in our overcrowded schools with teachers on emergency credentials and our children's programs cut to fund ESL. Their children are not more important than our own, and our children's schools are failing.
You can't bring in more people than you have services to adequately cover - that is basic.
Their labor is NOT cheap, it is just that we, instead of employers, are the ones paying the price.
I hear ya, plus deporting 12 million people would be the catalyst for an even larger wave of illegal immigration.
That's funny. We are were able to afford McDonalds before the flood of illegal criminal immigration. Wonder why we wouldn't be able to afford if they got deported.
kt_b_blue-nobody ever said anything about banning all Mexicans or Cubans. The war in Iraq and illegal immigration have nothing to do with one another.
i've seen tons of legal teenagers getting those jobs at mc donalds this summer. i dont care what menu you eat off of. i can afford a 30 dollar meal but choose to eat at home where i know who is washing their hands.
I think most people are against illegal immigrants, not immigrants in general.
Companies like McDonalds make a huge profit. If they raised the pay of workers, they would not have to make us pay $5 for cheeseburgers. I don't know why anyone would work for $5.15 an hour, you can't live off of that. If people stopped accepting this salary, they would raise it. At least if McDonalds paid a livable wage they would have more competent workers.
What I *DO NOT* understand is what about *ILLEGAL* that you don't understand? Or maybe you want a permanent underclass that are in virtual slavery? Or spend other people's money to render social services to them? No... I just don't understand *thinking* like yours.
The job you are talking about were and still are being done by teenagers and Older fixed income people. I see all different colors doing yard work. They are using illegals to bring down wages same as the Big business in the 20's to the 40's used strike breakers.There is no job Americans won't do. Before the Mexicans came in with low wages Americans did every job in this country.

And by the way, even if your whacked out logic WERE accurate, I would rather pay $5 for a cheeseburger than have to pay via my taxes for the children of immigrants to learn in our public schools. I would rather pay double to have someone take care of my lawn than worry about what criminal is sneaking into this country to sell drugs to our children.
