Why does everyone call it the Bush Amnesty bill?

yeah its true that most Americans and business owners are for this bill and it shouldn't be called Bush's bill..even though i am pro bush i think majority of liberals dont support the bill because it has been called bush's bill.
if you read few question on here about immigration u will see that more then 95% of people who don't support the bill are liberals.but thankfully thats not the case in congress.
more republicans didn't support the bill then democrats and therefore i think that will change when the bill is put up for vote again before 4th of july.
the amnesty bill is a win-win situation for all except the racists. it makes the illegals pay numerous fines (4.4 bn) which will go directly to border security, and if the illegals want to apply for Z-visas or PR then first they would have to go back to their countries (after paying the fines) and apply from there. i absolutely don't see any down side to this bill. if the illegals don't choose to go back to file papers for the amnesty then there is nothing to lose from the bill.
the bill also has provisions that makes it a mandatory for the the illegals to learn english. and since they would be legal (if they go back to their home country and apply) they would have to pay taxes and do everything that a legal person does in our country.
amnesty bill will pass since their is no other real solution to this problem. and 'rounding up' 14+ million people and shipping them back is not a solution.thats just racist talk..and will never happen without a civil war.

I agree that it is supported by just as many dem. as rep, but I have yet to talk to any of the general public that supports this bill.

Also, this thing is a long way from becoming law. The House has already said they're going to run it through the bill-o-matic and shred it.
All most any poll i've seen shows most Americans do not back this bill, nor does most in the House. The only ones backing this ( BS ) bill are Bush, and the vote hungry nuts in Washington.
They are trying to distance themselves from a very unpopular issue, even though they are the ones that wrote it and are still trying to shove it down our throats.

My opinion is that the media hates Bush and will do or say just about anything to run him down. There have been worse Democratic presidents that didn't get the negative press. The bottom line is that no matter who's name is on it, Its not good for the country, The only example you need is The Roman Empire. Check out history and tell me that America is not headed down the same destructive path.

i think the people who came up with this call it "Comprehensive Refrom Bill" but those anti--illegals are say it is the Bush Amnesty Bill. they didn't create it.
Uh, no, it doesn't have the majority of the American people. The majority of the American people want the CURRENT laws enforced and the illegal aliens to be sent back and the border closed. I am a LIBERAL talking like this and the REST of my family feels the same way! We have ALWAYS voted for Democrats, but not any longer! There are MANY people who are in the middle of the fence who are against the illegal aliens getting amnesty who feel the same that we do.
Because Bush is the major push behind this amnesty bill.

Reid and Kennedy are trying to push it through and they think if they call it Bush's bill no one will notice the Democrats pushing it. I think you know what the American people think by the previous answers.

It does not even come close to having the backing of the majority of the American people, I think you need to investigate a little more you may have your figures backwards, maybe the majority of the American people want this bill stopped.
Crossingover: Great point, I think many people are over looking other important sections of this bill and outsourcing high tech job positions by way of H1B visa's to other countries should not go unnoticed, how has this failed to attract the notice of people? I guess those are just more jobs Americans wont do?
