Outsourcing firms get the bulk of H1B and L1 visas?
L-1 visas are used by multinational companies to transfer foreign workers from their overseas operations to work temporarily in their U.S. operations.
Of the top 20 companies that used L-1 visas in fiscal 2006, nearly half are Indian IT outsourcing firms that are also among the top users of the H-1B visas. H-1B visas are used to employ foreign tech workers in the United States. "

The number of these visas should be reduced to zero. This is one of the most fraud ridden programs in our immigration system. It is essentially government sponsored illegal immigration. The program was to allow people with skills that were in short supply in this country to come here and work. Now, the definition of "short supply" has come to mean any skill that employers wish to keep wages depressed. Cheap labor is not a special skill. I've worked in various companies where the IT department is over 50% Indian and on only a few occasions did any of them actually have solid computer skills. As for the Indian IT companies, they are using 20,000 of the 65,000 visas and violating United States law by refusing to even interview an American worker. The law requires that companies with over 15% of their workforce being H1B visa holders to document their reasons for being unable to find American workers to do the job. They simply ignore the requirement. The L1B visa program has become a conduit for companies to forego the H1B process and simply dump foreign scabs into body shops and take jobs from US citizens in their own country. H1B and L1 programs are pure fraud and should be stopped immediately.
Just another reason to hammer our so-called Representatives. One more reason among many.
This just proves my opinion that American Business's have sold out the American worker...it isnt just congress and the White house. Import cheaper labor...or outsource jobs to take advantage of cheaper labor markets...next thing you'll see in every city is "Rent-a-mex"..or "Rent-a-Indian"...sound stupid? not as far off as you think...

I've seen these outsourcing firms used to hide illegal activities. Janitorial staffs were outsource to hide the fact the company was hiring illegal immigrants. I've seen an entire department layed off due to sexual harrassment complaints. THe entire department was rehired by an outsourcing company. The only reasonable reason to do this is to buffer the company from future sexual harassment complaints. I'm worried what kind of other illegal activites this type of outsourcing is trying to buffer. I've seen so much abuse to our immigration system. I'm wondering if people are using this outsourcing companies as a way to buy themselves into AMerica. LIke how Russian females come here as models. In my line of work I see A lot of Filipino come in as Professionals but work as unskilled labor. I was told they buy the documentation to prove they could perform a job, but they never do. I'm against any increase in Visas, and I would like a better method of regulating H-1B visas. Companies are refusing to give raises purposelessly so they can tell the government there is a shortage of employees so they can hire from with out.
edit: To add to Jimmy J. The problem with Indian professionals is that India's colleges is hugely unregulated. THere is a lack of accreditation in their colleges, so we don't know which colleges are real and which are diploma mills. THe statistics I saw, the vast majority of Engineering students are unqualified. We use to get the cream of the crop, and that what use to drive our economy. THe new batch of professional immigrants I see are substandard. I met several coworkers from foreign countries who was a doctor in their home country. I was shocked at how little medical knowledge they know.
Listen.this is America and our country should put Americans first in everything. Immigrants should not have any rights here at all, lets take care of our fellow Americans first. America is NOT the lifeboat for the rest of the world. We dont owe anyone a damn thing except to our veterans.
Other countries dont even allow immigration..there is no real reason we need immigrants anymore. Let the people from other countries build up their own country, dont run away and try to hide in America. America was built at a price of blood....most immigrants are cowards in their own country, thats why they try to hide here.
There are PLENTY of Americans ready to work for a decent wage.
Its time we took back our country and maybe even changed the form of government we have. We are no longer represented fairly, the representation is for the wealthy and special interests.
The Americans in our country come in all colors and religions. There is no race involved. What IS involved is simple...this is OUR country and we dont want anymore damn immigrants..got it?
People, we built this country and many of us shed blood for our country, we deserve to have a home, secure from foreign invaders. An illegal immigrant is a foreign invader.
America is in a death spiral. We cant carry the weight of every crybaby that wants into our great country. We need to put a MORATORIUM on all immigration, until every single American is taken care of first.
AMERICANS FIRST..then..maybe...a few immigrants here and there.
